Fox hasn't had the dual collar design for many years now. Retailers rely on manufactures for photos and product specifications. There are many running changes within each product line so unfortunately the photos may not depict the latest design. This is why we have this disclaimer on our policy page:

    WEBSITE CONTENT
Pictures and product descriptions may not always be up to date. For the latest product information please reach out to us or the product manufacturer directly via phone or email.

Here is a photo from Fox:

And a screen shot of their installation instructions which recommend a spring compressor:

when people ask me about adjusting a coilover this is what I say:

**NOTE: adjusting any coilover can be a pain. The entire weight of the truck should be taken off the suspension, on the collar there is a small lock nut that can be backed off ever-so-slightly which would allow the collar to turn. You would have to use a spray lube to help turn the collar, and even still there could be other components in the way to make it hard to properly grab the collar. In the case of the coilovers if anything happens the collar could become cockeyed on the shock body which could potentially damage the threads, the collar or even allow the coil to break loose and cause injury. So whenever messing with any spring that is under tension it is best to be aware of what you are doing and take any necessary precautions. Since this is the case most of the coilover manufacturers are recommending that the unit to be taken off the truck and for a spring compressor to be used in order to take the spring tension off of the collar and allow for it to safely turn. I have seen this method be used for all of the coilovers since it really is the safest method. IF this method is used it basically renders the spanner wrench obsolete however some people still like to have it since it tends to fit the holes better than a punch or something else (if they have a little trouble turning it by hand).

Pretty much every manufacturer (ADS, Elka, Fox, Icon, King) has a single collar design.

Also we along with most manufacturers recommend that everything be installed by a licensed professional who specializes in aftermarket suspension for your particular truck. Since that is the case they should be very well versed on how to install these items and how to properly set the ride height.

if Fox hasn't had the dual collar design for many years now, vendors and everyone else, have had many, YEARS to update the photos, PDF files too current designs,, and everything related to the new design, come on, people see and they buy, and expect to get what they see.. its just not right,, my 2 cents,, go to FOX website and look at specs, they show 2 rings on exploded view,, so people looking for shocks, they go to fox website, looking for shocks, they select a shock, then look at specs and they show a double ring,, im sorry but it isnt right,,

I would highly recommend reaching out to Fox to voice your concerns. They are the ones solely responsible for their products and the information that they put out into the world and maybe hearing from the public will help.

click on exploded view, 2 rings,,

    install guide 2 rings,,

ive looked at fox for a month and thought 2 rings would be better than one, would not matter where the set screw was, because there isnt one.. and all ive seen is 2 rings...

so this is what i expected to get. seems like no one updates anything...
ive been looking at them for a month, on at least 15 places on the net, and not once did a see a one ring adjuster.. live and learn . wonder what graphic mine will have.. lol
