My truck is white as well, but if I’m gonna do it I’d probably go the dark grey. Gonna look into it some more thanks!

I like the idea. My folks helped a family friend clear out her property after her husband died. One of the things he salvaged from the dumpster was a Nissan NS8B OB. It sat on a stand since new and the only damage is a paint chip from getting put in the dumpster. I think I will look for a canoe to build for the motor as a birthday present next year.

just make sure the canoe can handle it. Mine will take a 5ph max and it does sink the rear end a little with the motor, gas and me in it now. no weight in the front would be a lot of fun to open it up.:bikewhoops:

I installed these designed for a Dodge van: https://www.meadorpartsonline.com/oem-parts/mopar-ring-retainer-ring-5170492aa

They're extra heavy duty and don't flop around and rattle like some of the cheaper ones.

I ended up using my Dremel to cut a "D" shaped piece off the washer and mounted the rings under the washer. I never thought of grinding the threads but I guess either method will work.

Yea the dude was worried about the snorkel too, asking if I could easily take it off...I told him that wasn't gonna happen. Luckily I can pull off my lights and brackets in like 10 minutes.

Ended up still needed to get a second truck to the mobile install and place it by hand because the swing arm thing they use comes over the passenger side (snorkel...)

That's what I did to my bumper. I used an entire gallon of roll on. Used a paint brush in the interior spots for max coverage

OK. Just finished installing 4 bed D-rings (see link below), AKA the "Dodge Mod."

Here's a breakdown of getting the washer off the bolt:

    1. You can use a Dremel with a cutting wheel to cut a slice of the washer so the d-ring fits underneath. Takes about 5 min per bolt. I did one of the bolts like this and didn't like it so I ended up filing down the retaining threads so I could i could mount the d-ring on top of the washer instead of underneath it. OR....

    2. Use a Dremel with a grinding tip. Time: about 1 min per bolt and you'll probably need more than one Dremel tip. OR...

    3. Use a bench-mounted grinding wheel. Time: less than 30 seconds per bolt - by far the easiest method! OR...

    4. Put the bolt in a vise and use a hand file. Time: about 5 minutes per bolt.

BTW, the D-rings in the link below already have a 1/2" hole so there's no drilling. Believe me, these rings are better than any thing you'll find on Amazon.

    Hope this helps!

So this happened today. My girlfriend ran the passenger side of the truck into a jagged brick wall. Thankfully she didn't get hurt and it seems to be only the plastic bumper that took most of the hit. Might of slightly knocked the alignment off a bit but we'll see the extent of the damage when I get the bumper off.

    :annoyed:

I used a socket to fit over the bolt and rest on the washer and hammered it off less than 10secs

I wish dude... I wish lol

The bumper is dented in indefinitely and the impact broke all the left side mounting points. She said she saw the bumper lift in the air...

My wife runs in to shit all the time. I don't have a pic of all her damage on her Speedway Blue truck (almost as bad as black to keep nice), but 20 minutes with 3M rubbing, polishing and sealer of your choice has her bumper at least passing the 10 foot test. Wish you were closer. I'd hook you up

As for the dents, a hair dryer/heat gun and some care can get things back to almost normal. If not, good excuse to green light an aftermarket bumper. It could be worse!

I was going to say if shes running into walls then you should make her pay for your new steel bumper so she wont do it again:thumbsup:

Right on, I appreciate your kindness brother. I was able to pop out the dent (probably because it's 94° today lol). I'm going to zip tie the crap out of it and take the buffer to it and then throw some clear coat plastidip on there.

Just till I can figure out a permanent solution
