thats what the tune pack is for - you need to request the ECU you want via zendesk since you are an existing customer and mat will send them to you. then you can modify one of the currently available tunes instead of having to start with stock.

All the documentation hasn't been released yet, so we are all pretty much flying blind until that happens.

If he made blind access available, then people wouldn't have to buy the software and his company wouldn't make money. He's giving "free" access to those who already purchased OV tune so they don't have to essentially pay to tune their truck twice. It's far from lazy. He's also like a two-man show up there so give the guy a break. Unless you can do it better...

Two way street, mate. So many bitch-asses here too :crapstorm:

Anyways, "when I sent my request, wouldn't that be the time to send the appropriate tunes" is much more constructive and useful (for people reading too) than "Mat is lazy"

He would automatically send you the tune pack for your truck if he was a magician and knew what ecu you had...;) send him a zendesk request for the tune pack for your ecu ;)

he has to know what ECU you want to send the tunes....

for example, some people may have been on 04b12 when they purchased and have since updated to 04b13 or 04b14. wouldn't do much good to send them the 04b12 tunes.

    Did you read the instructions?
The software comes with credits to unlock the calibration that matches your truck.
I have no idea what calibration is on your truck and cannot give you the files in advance. You unlock your calibration ID/ ECU ID and you have access to that. That is in the instructions.
You don't need credits to unlock any file that matches your ECU ID.

Kiss asses? it looks more to me like you're complaining because you either didn't read or do not understand the instructions, and are complaining because you don't even know what you bought?

and somehow, someway, that's everyone elses fault.

Every business faces criticism. And yet the criticism we do get is less than 1% of our whole tacoma user base.
And funny enough 75% of the time it's people who flat out don't read.
Our product is unrefined because people have to know how to use a computer to use it? Do you have ANY experience with other tuning software on the planet? THEY ALL require adequate knowledge with a computer.
You'd probably have a heart attack if you had to figure out the process to apply a tune using ecutek or hp tuners.........

I did not assume anything. You are always the one losing their head in this thread.

Simply put, you do the things you always do. Come in here, complain, say what you have to say, and go on your way. Rarely communicating with us what you actually need or help you actually need.

I can't guess who you are. I can't guess your ECU ID. I can't guess your issues. You are one of those people who purposely make it harder for us, only post your grievance on the forum, almost never 1:1 communicate with us, and leave us guessing to what is actually going on.

sorry for my ignorance. Can someone explain this like I'm 5 or direct me to the right place to understand? I've read through a couple of pages but am still confused.

This product will give my manual transmission 2017 trd-off road more verified HP and torque while increasing fuel efficiency? Is it plug and play, or does it require a significant amount of work and understanding on my part?

    Thank you

Flashing your truck is easy if you can read and follow directions.

Don't buy this for fuel efficiency. Some have noted more fuel economy some have not.

I have not noticed an increase or decrease in fuel consumption unless i change the way i drive.

The power only increases if you use premium.

If you use regular fuel it doesn't really increase power much, nothing noticeable for me anyway, it's more of a torque shift, torque smoothing etc.

It helps driveability greatly, more low end torque and less jumpy. And yes if you use premium fuel with fob it is definitely noticeable.

Please read a bunch and don't become another whiner like some of these other guys/gals.

Do i recommend the tune? Absolutely

Does it solve all the trucks annoyances? No

I have never had a car/truck that i absolutely thought was perfect, they always have something i can't stand. This one is no different.

Hell if i had a horse drawn carriage I'm sure there would be something i could find to blame Toyota for.

This makes sense, thank you. The increased fuel economy was what interested me the most. Ill keep reading to better understand the benefits.
