I need a month, but would be very interested in wheeling/camping trips.

The Appalachian byway is on my list for this summer.

This was a nice spot, and it was fun going fast. Not really a trail though. Stock could definitely make it

They do. But once you add a riser, now the only points of support are those risers instead of all the toprack bars. I‘d prefer to spread the load out.

I hate sand! The idea of camping on a beach with all that sand in the tent gives me nightmares just thinking about it.

Creeks, hollows, little mud and rock is more my game. I've got a few little projects to take on, but want to have a shakedown run before Toyota takeover the end of July.

Ok my wife said to ask you all what you recommend and what we can do. We are looking for sheets for the rtt and a blanket for summer then in fall we will have our double person sleep bag to lay over us. So what sheets do you all recommend for the rtt’s?

and do you all leave your bedding including pillows in when you close it up or do you have to take the pillows out ?

also tent is a 72x96 if that makes a difference

I bought a regular king fitted sheet for my mattress, its not an exact fit like most rtt mattresses but it works. We then use 1-2 fleece king size blankets depending on how cold it is. Then I have a wool blanket I keep in a tub for a spare if it gets too cold. Before we go I put on the fitted sheet and toss the blankets out on the bed then close up the tent. I leave the pillows out because they are pretty thick. my RTT closes pretty nicely with mattress, 1" topper, sheet, and 2 blankets. I think I even have enough spare room to bump up to a 2" thick mattress topper and be fine.

Interesting. My RTT is 8’ when it’s open. How do you work that? Just have it over the top?

Your rack was and still may be the one I go with. Only problem is I have a tent on the way right now and need rack asap. I am sure you are beyond tired of hearing it but the lead time killed it for me.

The fitted sheet? Smittybilt Xl mattress is just slightly larger than a king mattress in 1 direction so the corners like to fold up a bit but once your in the bed the fitted sheet stretches. You can also get a custom fitted sheet made to fit your mattress. they are really just sheet material with elastic around the bottom.

Wondering if you can mount a RTT to a Prinsu cab rack. Not a bed rack. I see a lot of pictures of tents on Prinsu bed racks. Thanks.
