How do you like the 4.56 gears? Every shop I’ve talked to says get 4.88 for my 3.4 supercharged auto Tranny on 33”s

 

Just added some custom decals on the 98!

 

How did you get the old stickers/decals off? Or did it even have any? I have a drafted TRD file to cut me a new vinyl TRD but don't wanna fool with getting the old one off.

 

Old one was easy to take off. Just used a hair dryer and it peeled right off. I also used some Goo Gone.

 

had her about a month now.. new belts, tires, alignment, lighted moon visor, bug deflector, new bumpers, rusto wheel job, stripped factory pinstripe, chrome delete fender beads and handles.. shes runnin a little hot so i'm gonna swap the thermostat tonight, and probably get new gaskets for the valve covers in the near future, shes lookin a lil leaky down in there. '98 171k

Lol ya I got the idea from the method MR305 bronze rims but didn’t really want to drop $800 on wheels for the ole girl. Was nervous that the design of my wheels wouldn’t look good with the color, but after I was done I was obsessed!

 

My 99 coming up out of the canyon from three forks hot springs in the Owyhee Canyonlands after a rain. The dust turns into a brownie mix that just coats the tires.

 

Always will love the darker green of the early years, so understated how good it looks.

 

You need more wheel speed.

 

Assuming it's a 2.7l and after swapping the thermostat. There's a little petcock on the passenger side of the motor that will drain the coolant there. There is also one on the radiator passenger side that will drain that. Drain and refill with distilled water a couple of times and run until warming up and opening thermostat. Run the heater, too, to flush the heater core. When you're done refill it with some "Peak 'Original Equipment Technology' Asian" coolant.

 

Well finally got the tires sorted, some el cheapo Hyundai alloys and new 205/65/R16 tires. Much better driving now, no rubbing, no tires slamming into the fenders bowing them all out of shape and it handily did a burnout on the way home from the shop!

thanks for the advice, it's the 3.4L v6 but still was able to do the swap and flush. the old t-stat is locked up and doesn't open at all. I'm glad I didn't blow'r up.

 

When we got up top I had no choice but to go around 35-40 mph or I would have got stuck in the silt. The windshield was pretty covered from the mud flying off the tires on the 30 mile stretch to the pavement. It was almost like we were floating on it.

 

how much did new carpet cost, and how difficult was installing it?

Thanks man! I bought it from Stockinteriors.com. It was pretty straight forward, I kinda traced the old carpet openings onto the new one but more or less dropped it in and cut accordingly. The hardest part was the rear cubby's, but overall Im fine with it compared to the old gross carpet. Quality is great, especially for the price!
