I thought that was normal behavior for people and cats alike

 

That’s also Otis. You can tell when he’s just pooped because he will come rocketing across the house, usually doing a hard core par core off some furniture or counter.

 

I've read that cats do this because the smell of poop attracts predators, so they make sure to bounce (literally) after taking a dump.

It's also why they try and cover it up

 

Interesting... I always just chalked it up to brain damage. That would cover a lot of what he does.

Took a cat in for TNR this morning.

FLV positive. Euthanized per TNR program rules.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Another TNR appointment this thursday. I'm nervous.

 

It took a couple days but this is now the best spot in the house.

I bet you see some FLV and FIV cats for sure, doesn't make it easy though.

The cats are hating the SoCal heat wave we’re having. They just laying around and very lethargic. Kind of the same when it’s cool but just a little more so.

The little guy (Seamus) went back to the shelter today to be neutered. He will be adopted tomorrow so only one day in kitty jail.

 

This is actually the first positive i've seen in my colony. Ive heard of other colonies with 80%+ positive rates but I've been lucky, until now. NGL, he was the friendliest in the colony and my GF's favorite. The goofball would lounge ON TOP of her car in the carport. Also under it. And would approach for pets all the time.

 

So unfortunate.
There are two cat colonies near me and all the inhabitants have been clipped and stripped.
Locals keep them fed and sheltered in inclement weather.
