Finally went back and revisited the steps. Happy now. Need to wrap the wall around to the right side, and I'll be ready for a dirt delivery.

Oh yeah, and wrapping the wall around means I'll have to destroy the ramp to the old shop.

As I've mentioned before, I'm a wood flooring contractor specializing in sand and finish, but I'm also 52 with a 2 year old son.
So for those reasons I don't get to chime in very often but I do enjoy seeing all of projects..

Trust me we didn't plan it that way, it's a very long story but we were trying to start a family for 11 years including two failed adoptions, then we were blessed with our own biological child.
"Crazy Nick" goes back to my teen years in the hood... but I still have no idea why my friends called me that :D

20200606_135609~2.jpg Ceilings are going up... Yeah thats really really black. Found some wider bead board than what we had seen at the Lowe's closest to us. Also air compressor motors get hot and feel terrible on bare calf muscles

Closer (that is vinyl flooring but it is almost an exact match to the solid hardwoods we have every where else in the house that doesn't have plumbing... It isnt all attached yet) and we have the base board and I still have to make that walnut exposed casing... We have another wall cabinet to hang above the dryer and then on the addition part we have a floor to ceiling cab for one corner and in gonna make a clothes folding bar/table/countertop/shelf from the tall cab to the wall... Well maybe I'm not as close as I thought haha

2 competing stores, 2 different brands, 2 different styles, ~10 years apart... Id say that's as close as you can get to a match

Working on matching coffee and end table for the living room. Tops are round tops found at Lowe’s. I really wanted to make the tops myself but couldn’t justify wasting $300 in material if they didn’t turn out as planned. Sometimes you have to put pride aside continue on

Alright so walnut is way way harder than pine in case you were wondering. I had been using a 2x4 clamped down as a guide to rip with the jig saw but the blade started bending on this cut making my straight edge useless... What do y'all think about end grain on the top part of my faux exposed beam? I can cut 1" sections no problem with the miter in a hurry... I may wind up borrowing a skill saw and trying to rip it again, but it does incase a 2x4 perfectly this way (there is slightly nore than a 2x4 width gap ill need to cover because it was a double 2x4 since it was kind of an exterior wall) Also probably gonna try and make a cutting board with all the scraps.

Wait u have a miter saw but no circular saw?
And u tried ripping those beautiful boards into finished trim with a jigsaw?
    Lol I admire the effort
Get a skil saw, buy it don’t borrow it you’ll need it down the road. Instead borrow some time on a table saw :)

This is a purple heart, yellow heart, and walnut box, with inlays. My wife picked the colors.

Careful how you attach the tops or they will crack. You want to allow the top to expand and contract across the width with the humidity. One screw in the middle of the top or glue a block of wood to the aprons with a elongated hole in it.
