I'm not sure what you call it when you start and don't stop over multiple days. I'm doing that.

Yes. We had drank a bit. Some of us more than others. I still need to get to the store for some of that Devil's Backbone.

Still fighting with the light bar. Got the wind deflector trimmed down so I could finally mount it but following the instructions for wiring it comes on anytime the button is pushed regardless of the engine being on. So I gotta figure that out.
But at least I finished one project. The Anytime Front/Rear Camera. I think I drilled the hole for the camera at a slight angle. It looks a bit catty wompus.

You tapped into power that isn't accessory power. You need to find a different power source. Are you using a relay? Where is your switch getting power.

I have a harness like this off the switch.

The harness has two wires on the relay at the 87 connector, one goes to the battery and the other comes back to the green wire on this harness for the switch. Red 1 wire goes to the 85 connector. Pulling up different diagrams for a 4 pin relay, it seems they all use different layouts for what is connected to what pin.

Makes sense. So if you are supplying the switch off the harness and the harness off the battery it will never care if the engine is running. If i am hearing you right, you need need to connect the green wire on the switch to an add-a-fuse tapped into an accessory power circuit so it only works while the truck is in accessory or running on the ignition

Looking at other wiring diagrams, I think they have the wires connected at the wrong pins on the relay. I printed out two examples, one positive trigger and one negative trigger. I will draw out what CaliRaised did on those and see if it makes sense to me.

Regardless of what you do, if the power is coming from the harness it will always work. You have to put the supply to the switch from accessory power if you don't want it to work when ignition is off.

Almost every light harness is not setup how you want from the factory

The green highlighter and hand written part is how it is wired from the factory. It is backwards from all the wiring diagrams I see, but should that matter? I don't think so. I guess what was throwing me off was the two wires connected at the relay, the green wire from the switch for source and the wire going straight to the battery.
