OVTune 3.5L Tacoma Supercharger and Twin Turbo Systems

To confirm the boost reading will work on this gauge with our trucks but any OBD2 function will not work

 

If this gauge has a boost function that doesn't read off of obd2 then it will work. Otherwise no. Our trucks do not have a map sensor, so no pressure function through obd2

 

Just ask how many orders they need to go ahead and start production.

Maybe 10 people go ahead and buy in at a discounted price to fund development and they will start producing them.

Excellent footwork and the gauge looks nice.. it'd be even better if it matches the interior coloring and has access to OBD data.

Group buy / informational thread sounds good to me.

I assume it'll be challenging to get 20 people on a group buy anytime soon[-ish] with the initial drop of OVTune TT kits limited to a count of 25.

There will be additional demand if/when the supercharger manufacturers actually release a product.

 

Yeah 20 people is a stretch when only 25 people in the world, that we are aware of, will have a boosted 3rd gen Tacoma.

 

I had this problem on an NA car that I turboed and it'll survive for a while but it always ends poorly. For me it was a 2" hole burned through the dome and ring lands on my #3 Cyl.

 

So to confirm, you also need to add an analog boost sensor for boost pressure functionality which brings the gauge price to 440?

Then you could have obd2 functionality and a boost gauge all in one package.

 

@OVTune did you ever mess around with that magnuson supercharger?

 

I believe that is correct. I will look at it and put a new thread together with what I can find out later when I get a few minutes.

Cool idea, unfortunately I already have my boost gauge bought.
Also turbos hopefully are a lot closer than 8 weeks out and I want a gauge ready when I first light the truck off with turbos installed.
