    These posts receive my stamp of approval as well. I have the same mirrors in my shed that I need to modify. :boink:

    There are several in our TW search. I don't know if what I did is exactly in there as I was not willing to read the significant number of pages to the end. If you want I can walk you though what I did with a pm... this goes for anyone else as well.

    Technically yesterday, but I rolled 200,000 on the truck on my morning commute to work. Also, ignore the tpms light. My tires are adequately filled.

    Okay, to the best of my remembering here is the skinny in this project. If you leave out the heat, it is easy. So here we go:

    1. The mirrors that work are the 2010-2013 4 runner mirrors. Same perch design. Please note that Toyota did a mid year 2013 change to the mirrors and the second series mirrors are different! See the picture below:

    20200610_093709.jpg

    The black one is the correct mount style with the raised pin/ screw mount. This was an expensive mistake for me. Do yourself a favor and order 2012 mirrors... You will have to drill the plastic locating pin hole bigger because the 4 runner casting is larger and won't seat properly I just used the mk I eyeball guess on the drill size and made the change-don't push all the way though...

    2. All the details of door disassemble exist on TW, go find them if you have questions. Take your mirrors off. Then remove the small oval cover on the bottom of the mirror perch and take the three screws on the bottom out. I did have to drill one out as it stripped. Use some spry, and the correct size torx bit-you have been warned. Make note of the wires and colors: ie where they go etc. and cut the plugs off. Leave a decent amount of wire as you are going to reuse your plugs. Now do the same to the 4runner mirrors. If the outside color cap is on-SEND IT BACK. You cannot get the mirror off a repop without breaking the internals that make adjustment possible, and the mirror has to come off to get the cover off. Assume you can get the factory mirror off, but not confirmed.

    3. Here is the wiring breakout by color, it is a time saver for you: This is how it was on my 2015 dble cab. your experience may vary so check before cutting please. I am not responsible for a mistake.

    Turn signal: Truck - Blue w white stripe = 4runner mirror - pink
    White w Black stripe = white

    Mirror Adjustment: Truck - red = 4 runner mirror - red
    purple = purple
    brown = brown

    These you rewire onto the plug you cut off of your truck factory mirror for both sides. Easy and done plug and play for the mirror and turn signals.

    Puddle light: Truck - None (you must create and I will explain below.) = 4 runner mirror - yellow (both + and - wires are yellow.)

    Heat: Truck - None = 4 runner mirror - black ( both wires.)

    4. Now you need to run a wiring harness through to the door from the kick panel on each side for the puddle lights and heat. Sorry-no pictures.With your door apart, i peeled back the clear plastic so I could access the wiring boot. Take sill plate and kick panel covers off. Pull the boot out of the door and the jamb. I ran two 18 g. yellow and black wires in a mesh loom cover through the holes, boot and into kick panel area on both sides. I used a 4 prong quick connect for these wires in each door so they can be disconnected without cutting wires. You can get these at any reputable wiring outlet or NAPA etc. Once the wires are in the kick panel, put everything back together and button up your doors.

    5. Puddle lights: Pull a constant power from anywhere that is convenient and attach to one side of the circuit (a yellow wire from each side. I did this all on the drivers side kick panel area (so I pulled the wires through from the passenger side.) Assuming you want the puddle lights to work on the dome light circuit, you have to find the blue (neg) side wire for the dome (center) light. I ended up tapping in on the drives side pillar. I pulled the OS handle and cover, cut the loom open and found the blue wire (use caution as the airbag is RIGHT there as well...) I cut it and splice together with a section of 18 g. blue wire that I ran back down to the kick panel. Splice this to the other yellow wires and you should now have functioning puddle lights. Oh, I fused this at 3 amps at the power source.

    6. Heat: There are several ways to do this and at least a dozen write ups in TW for this. However, this is what I did: I ran two 16g. wires from my added fuse panel in the engine compartment (one black for ground) and one yellow (because its what I had for pos) for power. The power is fused at 10 amps. I have a switch panel near my shifter, so I pulled up that cover and installed the heated mirror switch from AirOnBoard. I used a Wolsten Tech adjustable timed relay and wired the mess up. Mirror heat goes on with switch and stays on for 20 minutes then automatically shuts off. I think Toyota runs 15 min on their timed switch. I can change this if it is not enough or to much.

    Thats all-have fun. I wish I had changed my puddle light bulbs to led... see what you think before you put the cover on.

    My passenger front doesn't have a tpms sensor in it. Valve broke off @ threads so replaced it w/ a regular valve instead

    That is a very nice build!

    Not today, but yesterday I installed an RCI aluminum front skid. No pics, unfortunately due to my iPhone camera crapping out on me recently and I'm too lazy to get out the real camera and upload pics.
