I get that. My wife has asthma so she's been extra cautious; doing WM pickups, not going to restaurants...stuff like that. But I work with 800 people so (and this may sound shitty) it seems almost pointless because I'm bringing home what they have. I try to do right (for her) but I tend to be a slacker when it comes to germs.

We try to keep the germs down at the store, when this all started a guy came in with gloves on and a mask and was skiddish (he's a regular, everyday 2 beer guy). Yesterday we saw him in the parking lot with his keys in his mouth after pumping gas. I guess he's not skiddish anymore :notsure:

I’m pretty low risk, and have no family. And I eat off the floor, don’t even care lol. I’ve always been on the “let your immune system lift it’s own weights” train.

I guess my biggest concern was the gov stepping in and mandating businesses to close their doors. Many of them will never re-open. That kind of cuts out some of this great country's freedoms imo.

I had one once and converted it to all Chevrolet minus the frame and body, cut it and stretched it a foot so I could make it all fit. I don't miss it.

The other week, I watched a guy walk out of a store into the parking lot, and he removed his mask........ and put it in his mouth.

I guess we’re letting our guard down. I’ve always been kind of a germophobe so I already had the mindset of touching as few public surfaces as possible.

Yes, I agree. It’s hard, it’s not an easy road. But thems the cards we were dealt in this crisis. Here as well, there are places that will never open their doors again. Like Reagan said, “The price was high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price”. Consider the 2nd amendment. Lots of tragedies happened...but we are not willing to give up the right to bear arms, even in the face of tragedy, because we can’t afford to. So even though it set our economy back, and cost people jobs, brick and mortar businesses, we had (have) to control the spread and mitigate our losses, as best we can. And when I say as best as we can, I don’t mean let the government dictate to our detriment, I mean do our best within our capabilities, even though we may have to sacrifice. But again I’m just a mechanic and I don’t have the answers. I’m just trying not to be a vector, and hoping we can hold it together as a country.

A buddy of mine had one similar to this. I still remember watching someone get chucked out the back when we hit a bump on a trail. Good times

    To expand on that somewhat...

The stability of our system of government depends on a solid middle class.
They have the most at stake.
The ultra rich can insulate themselves, or if it comes to it, emigrate.
The underclass would just as soon burn it all down.

I can name a few businesses in this small town that have gone under.
Two hairstylists, an old fashioned diner...just for starters.
If I asked Mrs Gritto, she could probably tell me exactly.
She's plugged in to all local news, in the newspaper or otherwise.

On my drive home from work today, I looked back on simpler times. Times when the most important thing was what a girl in your class thought of you, if you remembered your homework, did you get that signature for the field trip. Times when the phrase "ignorance is bliss" didn't yet reveal it's true meaning. I remembered catching craw dads in the river with my dad, enjoying the fort he had built above the shed, even high school where graduating seemed like the biggest thing there was. When the reality of life still hadn't yet revealed itself, when friends were still around, and when I wasn't hovering above my seat driving home because I finally got to experience what the fuck a shart was. Those were better times, and for both myself and my pants, they are only memory
