I’m leaning that way also, we’re not quite ready to buy yet but I’m going to keep my eyes open for an older Deere for a good price.

We had this happen on my graduation day near about missed it because of it lol. The man we hired to do it had decided instead of pulling into the field at the established pull in spot we use for everything else he Decided to go to the wettest deepest spot on the side of the road. We spent over 3 hours unsticking him... I don’t have a picture of him stuck but I do have a picture of the aftermath.EC25B1C3-AAAA-47E5-9BB7-2C31C61E6C2D.jpg

Well, I don’t have a Tacoma any longer, but I picked up another tractor :D

Late 60s Bolens 1250 with an Ark FEL. The tractor is an older restoration, the loader Was done recently. It’s very presentable, but I bought it to use anyway. Put the old girl to work immediately after backing off the trailer.

    I absolutely love this thing.

Thanks guys. It has some neat features. The guy who restored the loader had a new subframe built for it so it sits back 5” further to the rear of the tractor. Then he put 8 ply skid steer tires on the back that are loaded with beat juice AND have three wheel weights per side. I’d say it’s about as ballasted as a garden tractor gets...

He also added a filter to the loader valve. That’s never a bad thing either.

I have some Tri ribbed 4 ply tires coming to put on the front. The guy also gave me an NOS 1” front spindle kit it. The tractor has 3/4” spindles now. I’ll throw the new tires on when I do the spindles.

That's great! Doesn't get much better than that for a small machine. Any idea on the max lift capacity? How's the steering with a full bucket? If it's too difficult, you could install a char-lynn setup for inexpensive power steering. You can find parts on eBay for decent prices if you look around.

I have an Economy Power King, 1964, tandem transmissions (talk about granny gear..., and yes, if you put it in double reverse, you go forwards lol). I thought about putting a small loader on it but the steering would be too difficult and stress the front axle too much. Now I've got the mini stand-on skid steer and there's no need for me to have a smaller loader on the PK.

I know this really isn't a huge calling in this thread, but have you seen the new LX series Kubota's?

The guy that I bought it from said he maxed out the adjustment screw on the loader valve just to see what it would lift. He claims that he weighed a bunch of stuff and threw it in the bucket, including his kid, and it was 500 lbs that it lifted.

I’ve only used it for mulch so far but it seems pretty powerful for a small machine. I would use the Kubota for anything big anyway.

I was loading that garden cart with a shovel the other day. That night, this thing popped up on FB four miles from my house. Fate? :D

My kid (one in the rainbow pants) wants to drive the Jeep and tractor all the time. She is 11. I let her drive the Jeep. I'm pretty sure she would roll the Kubota.

You know? I’m sitting here right now looking at this loader thinking “I could build this”. Could be a fun winter project.

Wonder what a guy would pay for a new loader like this :welder:

I was just watching that episode the other day. Looks interesting, but if I wanted a tractor that size I'd just buy an L, personally

I bet she does love driving the Jeep!

I moved our gooseneck with the tractor so I could get our camper out the other day, both my kids (daughter is 4, son is 8) wanted to help. It didn't take me long to realize they are too big to both ride on my lap while trying to do something :D
