2019 Tacoma TRD Sport Vibration at 20 MPH

I have had my 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport for over a year now, it has 4,700 miles. Since day one there has been a vibration at 20 mph when decelerating with the brake on or off.

The dealership has installed a steering dampener and when that did not work a drive shaft.

Then the said a special was going to come to the dealership and drive the truck.

The specialist labeled this as normal vibration. Got got off the phone with the Toyota advocate and the specialists word is final I have to live with this.

FYI- My son-in-law has the same truck year and all, there is no vibration. I owned a 2013 sport before this one with no vibration.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

 

That’s unfortunate, just like the cam cover leak Toyota is saying all these issues are all normal now.

 

This is a common problem with all 3rd gens. I was able to fix mine with a 3 degree axle shim.

 

I notice vibration on the passenger seat every now and then.

 

Do you have any sort of lift or new suspension on it?

 

Vibrations are common when drive shaft angles are off

 

There’s after market drive shafts you can look into that would get rid of this or press Toyota to see if they can check the angle of it

 

My 2020 does the EXACT same thing - Dont waste anymore time, it is what it is, Toyota wont do anything
and yes, MANY trucks do this and all you will hear from Toyota is "it's normal"

$26 and a couple hours to install. Very easy and fixes the problem. Just be sure to put them in the right direction.
