I got a basic Smittlybilt 2783 RTT and recently removed the rain fly and 3 aluminum tubes off the tent. Do you guys remove the rain fly during the summer ? (I live in Vegas so it's over 100 for like 4 months)

I use it, but then again, I'm not camping in the desert.

Don't use a RTT but on my regular tent I never use the rain fly unless it's actually raining or threatening to rain. And in that case I'm probably not camping so I think I've actually used a rain fly like twice in my life.

I live in New England, unless I want to wake up wet I always use the rain fly.

I'm in Vegas as well and do not use my rain fly. I would if it were raining or if it was cold and I wanted to keep warmth inside.

    I wanted an MT.
I have a nice MSR tent... I always use the fly and an additional tarp over my tent strung up... pop up storms in the Appalachian mountains in summer can be very bad

Mmmm hmmm, rain fly 100% of the time. And it's the clear nights that are the worst for the morning dew.
