Nice! I'm putting my old 265/75R16s back on. I think I can squeeze another 10k out of them. I've been flip flopping between 265/75 and 255/85 for my next set. I just feel the 285s are too much weight for my 4 banger with stock gearing, and depending on the day the 255s may be too much too. I guess we'll see what happens when I show up at Discount Tire when the day comes. :notsure:

I almost forgot to ask. What made you decide to change wheels. Is there something I'm missing about these wheels that I'm going to regret?

I think you are smart sticking to the 265/75s. I still contemplate whether I should have done that myself. However my supercharger turns the 285s over just fine.

Thanks man I appreciate that. Truck looks great! By the way, how did you get those center caps? I'd really like those ones rather than the blank ones. Is it just a request through them?

No the wheels are definitely not the reason i changed. I love the wheels and the fitment was perfect. My reasons below:
    1. I’ve realized I don’t really need E load tires for the way I use the truck. It was nice having that confidence in the side wall last summer in Moab but don’t need it on my local trails. There isn’t any AT C load 285s for 16” wheels.
    2. I got a killer deal on some 285/70r17 KO2 C loads through a friend at Michelin as well as a great deal on some FJ wheels.
    3. I constantly change vehicles or looks of vehicles to keep my interest engaged in the vehicle. It’s a sickness
    4. My wife and I are expecting our first child in August and could use the extra cash from selling this set of wheels/tires and the C loads will give our baby a slightly softer ride.

    This is all legit reasoning.

I'm running C rated myself and they're holding up better than I thought they would considering the sharp rocky terrain here in Arizona. Another reason for me to stay away from the 255s. :annoyed:

It's like Christmas eve and I'm very excited. The first set of brand new wheels I've purchased since 1992 have made it to town. They're at the local FedEx location and will be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully I can get them installed Saturday.

I have a brand new set if you're local to me, just bought them last month from Dustin. Only selling cause the 17's will not fit my 6 inch bds lift kit.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm in Riverside. Just curious, how do you find out if they will fit under a lift? I plan on doing an icon lift in the near future and would hate to be in the same situation

On the bds 6 inch lift drop bracket lift they relocate the sway bar on the new knuckles so they require using 18” wheels

I started putting sealant on them in the house and was quickly informed that the fumes were causing my lovely wife to get a headache. It's 107 outside right now so they're gonna have to wait till tomorrow morning to get the coating process done.

Do these wheels require a sealant? Can you elaborate? This is the first I've heard mention of it.

No they don't require it. They are painted grey and then powder coated with clear. I just figured while they're off the the truck and easy to work on I'd start off with some protection.
