Installed some braided brake lines today and got everything bled out. Also took out the small zip ties I put in the leaf springs yesterday and replaced them with larger ones and greased between the leaves. The sound is worse than it was with the small zip ties and no grease. Idk what’s happening anymore. 8E766391-F52C-4846-8E73-E732BA4A1993.jpgF0CCA921-DFF9-42BD-8F77-C0D4C1F06577.jpg

Big day yesterday driving around grabbing parts and installing the new winch and battery. 244CFA66-8BBA-4BBD-A7ED-634B0D20A273.jpg

I had to modify the battery tray and strap to fit the big 27F X2 power battery in the stock location but it fits well and I think you could go even bigger if you weren’t concerned with the weight. I cut the welded stud out of the factory strap and replaced both sides with new j-hooks and lock nuts. 8433ED59-4D4B-45E6-8681-BC150424FDCE.jpg970C7644-743C-407A-8A1D-8A1652CEC76C.jpg A6832D92-8A62-4699-8FBA-562015519095.jpg

Got the winch all installed and spooled the rope up. I need to get some weight on it and spool it again. Probably do that Saturday after I pick up the camper. 6933FB76-52D6-4084-A9C4-E4CBEAAD215F.jpg

I’ll let you know but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say they won’t be great haha. Although I’ll be driving south with the camper and south is always downhill so that should help.

So, the new trailer is pretty sweet! Got decent mileage on the way home as long as the wind wasn’t blowing too hard. Unfortunately most of Wyoming was windy af so that killed the mileage for a couple hundred miles. Man I was thinking it would be around 9 mpg but it hurt to see it haha. Yeah it’ll stay in the garage for now. We have a trip to Crested Butte this weekend, should be able to get some rad photos of the whole setup. Thing pulls great though!

I meant to put this up the other day but I installed a Redarc brake controller in the truck before we picked up the camper. Installs really clean and has some great features. CF62C193-76DE-404E-9E60-B4C453FEB52D.jpg

Pulled the camper up some sketchy old mining road. Set up shop at about 11,000ft. Here’s some pics from the weekend. 32B96D61-56EC-4058-9924-0A96AB975CB9.jpg855E1D5F-653C-490C-AA37-E14D5F9EF30F.jpg2594D26E-9C1B-48F6-A76F-F70D86D6C17C.jpg2550DC31-AEB4-4E87-A0C0-E8EC58B0D7A9.jpg613D848F-3388-4AE7-8403-492C4FD3008B.jpg

Well I have about 1200 miles on it now which includes some sketchy old mining roads that were super steep. If I dial on any more than like 4-4.5 on the controller it will lock the tires up. I know it dials up to 10 but for my trailer it seems like 4 is the sweet spot unless I’m loaded down and on the steeps. I kinda figured it would be mid power at 5 and I could crank up to maybe 7 or so but it would just be too much. I do like that you can use it manually to lock up trailer tires without the truck brakes being engaged. I think it may help in the future when getting into tight corners and trails.

Did a bunch of exploring around paradise pass and the Gunnison National Forest. Even got to hit some sweet broverland water crossings. Probably will add a snorkel at some point. It was pretty damn deep. Also got a few new scratches and dings haha33FE1606-6D0B-442F-AC20-3E46E7E61EE5.jpg5B692172-F4E4-475B-9AD5-C83FB5FFCA3C.jpg2BB4ECBC-4A34-4362-8200-A553539F12C9.jpg3F511F15-5D91-4900-A7FA-49D34698052D.jpgE175884D-2C47-42A2-9480-0170ED992906.jpgB4405703-B557-474A-99E0-DBC5F9669BC5.jpg562AD9DA-1FCA-49B3-B6EE-2284908DAD1F.jpgBB27E8BB-D825-4094-A9B9-F408358C27F6.jpg
