That’s ridiculous lol, yeah honestly either one would be far better then CA haha but I believe Texas usually has better deals on trucks from my experience.

I'm thinking Texas also since they probably have larger volumes of inventory.

Almost never buy ANY new cars in Texas. Dealers here are way overpriced. Last few cars I've bought required going to Arizona, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Really? Damn good to know. I'm closer to Arizona, but would consider others.

That's not to say some might find a good deal at a random Texas (or any other state for that matter) dealer. I find the dealers in major cities are almost always overpriced and don't like to negotiate. Dealers out in the middle of nowhere seems to have better deals in my experience.

Looking at 2 identical spec used 2020 Taco's in both Dallas and Little Rock. Dealer in Dallas is priced almost $5K more and won't budge on price even after informing them I can buy a brand new one for less than they are asking.

Hey gang! First timer here! I'm in the market for my first Taco! sounds like I've missed the carona bus and now its tougher to find deals especially here in Southern Cali. Gonna wait it out it looks like, but I do have a question:

Im looking at the TRD OR DCLB and I noticed that it does not come in 2WD as apposed to the same model but in a SHORT BED configuration which is available in both 2WD and 4x4. Can anyone confirm that the TRD OR DCLB’s only come in a 4x4? I’ve been trying to justify purchasing a 4x4 but the more I think about it the more I realize I won’t use it much but I would definitely use the long bed. The cost savings in fuel, maintenance and insurance are more appealing to me. If this is the case, Is there a reason why the TRD OR DCLB only comes in 4x4? Thanks in advance all! This forum has been very useful thus far!:)

I got quoted for a 2020 TRD Off-road 4x4 in white at $35.4k otd. but decided to go with a used one.

On the front range of CO, dealers add $5,000 to anything with the word PRO on it... I don’t play that game, but some people smile and say YES. Went out of state, saved >$2,000 off MSRP, + the $5k robbery attempt.

That quote was from Pitts Toyota in Dublin GA. They got the truck from Franklin Toyota in Statesboro GA. honestly, I was going to do it but the truck was white and I really didn't want a white one. Plus I thought I could find a good pre-owned deal and ended up getting my pre-owned for $28k otd with low miles. $7k will pay for lots of mods :)

Yea I've told 3 dealers that and none of them will share the invoice with me. Maybe the market is different here in GA but all of the dealers are claiming short supply and still a strong demand so they don't have to come off the price. I know supply is short, not sure on demand. Its probably a tactic to see if I would cave, but I'm holding out.

They're full of shit. If the supply was low and demand high they wouldn't be dropping prices. They took $6k off of MSRP for me in GA.

I don't think there's much doubt that supply is short relative to a "normal"cycle. I would agree that claiming high demand may be dubious, but I also don't think demand is way low either. Once they took away 0% financing, it appeared based on my daily car guru search that sales have slowed down a bit. In my opinion, if you don't absolutely need a truck right now, waiting should yield better deals once the factory is spitting out trucks.
