    Had it on my tailgate almost two years now, no problems. Simple install, works great. Can't speak to why others have difficulty with such a simple mod :confused:.

    Are these still available, and if so, from whom? I just did some searching, and all I’m seeing is discontinued or out of stock. What happened?? It’s not like these trucks have become unpopular or anything.

    I’m looking for one to fit my 2006 access cab, so I don’t get pulled off my camping platform trying to get out in the morning.

    They are out of stock or discontinued because the little shock/struts are junk and most return them or throw them out.

    edit: seems like there are still lots available. OP search SG329900EZ on google and you should find some sources. (part number is for a 2015 just fyi)

    Christian06, thanks for the info and videos. Cool conversation and likely more solid than the 1 shock systems. As I’m on the road, that‘s a bit much to install, so I went with the EZ Down (Finally found one hiding on eBay), and its awesome! Yes, as mentioned above, read the reviews and be aware of the cable pinch potential.

    However, just closing the tailgate 1/2 way and pinching the cable in the middle (with my fingers, So nothing crazy) took care of the issue.

    I’ve been using it over a month now, in dusty southern Utah, and it works perfectly! :thumbsup:

    I camp in the bed of my Tacoma, and open the topper and tailgate from the inside, and it’s loud and annoying when it crashes down. I found this post from googling a 2nd gen version of the 3rd gen feature.
