That looks great! Does the Apple Car play work wirelessly? Did you get everything for the install from Crutchfield? What all did you buy for the install. Thank you in advance. I think I just found my new head unit.

    Carplay is wireless.

Crutchfield is the easiest way to go.

I posted screenshots of everything I bought further back in the thread. The only thing extra you’ll need to add to what Crutchfield provides is the Satellite and GPS adapters and a SXM unit if you want satellite (screenshots with part numbers are posted).

As for the wireless Car Play, it works as advertised. Response time is much faster in this pioneer unit, than it was with my Dasita PX5 and PX6 head units. The PX5 would take up to 30 seconds to connect, The PX6 would take 20-30 seconds to connect. The Pioneer takes 5-10 seconds to connect wirelessly to my iPhone 11Pro MAX. Responsiveness was the primary reason for moving to this unit. If you already own or intended to buy the RFCC TTG2 Car Camera Control System to your TACO, adding a front camera, it works flawlessly with this setup, giving you instant access to both the front and rear cameras. You can do it through the head unit, but it requires too much messing with the head unit to bring it up. I already had the camera system previously installed and I did not like pioneers implementation.

You can use the app to put your rear camera on your home screen and keep it there. Not sure if you can do a front camera since is don’t have one yet.

This is a screenshot from the app how I have mine set up. (It’s not my actual radio)

Did you guys install a parking brake bypass? If so which one? I have one for triple pulse. Fits AVH and NEX. Just not sure its needed or will work with the DMH-...NEX? Thanks! @Ch78

Parking brake bypass is not necessary with NEX units. turn on the vehicle while in park; once booted, engage and release the parking break 3 times in a row. Bypass is now set and will remain so until you disconnect the vehicle battery.

Ok. Then it will work being triple pulse! Thanks! I dont want to have to pull the brake every time I get in the truck. Does it take a while to boot?

Oh crap. I think I read this wrong. You only need to do it upon initial installation or after having the battery removed? Not every time you get in the truck? Thanks

did some research, you can NOT bypass the parking brake. 2019 pioneers are also tied to the GPS and parking brake. So no bypass.. If the GPS indicates that the vehicle is moving, no video.

    none yet!
    Hi all!

Well, I just purchased a 2019 SR5 yesterday. I can tell by the amount of forums posts I've been reading that I've entered into a black hole of upcoming projects on my new truck!

The first point of business is replacing the less-than-stellar head unit the car came with! I think the 6600nex is for me!

I do have a one quick question - the "premium bezel" - I gather this is the bezel that comes w/ the upgraded or JBL sound system? If I plan to use my current bezel on the 2019, I assume I have to throw the router table at this and hope I don't remove too much material - I assume it's easy to purchase a replacement bezel? (Like this one)

    Looking forward to chatting more!

I can already tell I'll appreciate this community!

I installed it. I’ll have to report back if it worked. I spent most of my time on the brackets that I failed to take a picture of and basic tuning of my amps. Still a ton to learn. Thanks for your help!

Yes. I would also have purchased the 6600 if I would have seen this post ahead of time. Was very difficult and time consuming to line up the oem brackets to the new deck. The floating screen does not come with brackets that tie it to the single sim chassis like the 6600. They talked about them in the unboxing video, however there were none and I don’t think there’s supposed to be any. Would be Best to purchase the 6600 for sure! Just didn’t want to wait 5 more days.

Not necessarily I have the premium bezel on my 2019 and do not have JBL you would have to post a pic of your unit, or see if the size of the opening looks like the same size as some of the completed units

You might as well go ahead and spend a little more and do the Kicker speaker upgrade also. You’ll be much happier with the sound for not much more money.

Correct, the premium HU and JBL are the same size. Once you get below those 2 it’s a different bezel.
