KO2s handle good in the snow, especially the 3PMSF rated ones.

I had duratracs and will agree that they were amazing in the snow. Just a bit of a hum on hwy and wet traction wasnt the best.

Yeah me too. 1 set, no fucking around.

I’ve run ko2s since I’ve had tacomas, I swore by em. Until I had to move through real ass snow daily, then I tried a few different tires, and I’ll not be going back

My super scientific testing has shown me that cooper at3’s performed the best out of at3, hankook whatever came stock, STT Pro, and k Bros. I settled on the STT because while they didn’t grip as good as the at3, they still did really well, yet performed better on the trails, so STT it is. For me anyway.

How do they do in the rain and how are they on the hwy? They do look like a good tire, gotta admit. My next set should be ko2s, unless i find something better for my needs.

The STT? Good in the rain. Loud as fuck when they wear, and they cost an arm and a leg  so that part sucks a lot

It handles about as well as any truck in the snow, which is to say not as well as a car or SUV. The weight distribution is just too imbalanced toward the front and none of the diffs are limited slip.

I see. I do a lot of hwy driving so need something silent like bfgs ko2s. I really liked the duratracs but they were noisy. I guess ko2s it is, unless someone has better suggestions.

If it’s just snow then there are allot of tires that will do the job but if it’s actual winter driving - it’s friggin ice performance you need to worry about. In my experience with my other trucks and cars, nice big wide off road tires work ok in snow but hit some good old black ice on a really cold day and you’ll need a change of underwear. It’s not tread, it’s how much adhesion the tires have to ice.

It sure was. 148 miles of that shit, or there abouts. Ended up being a wicked trip, but the pucker factor was high for sure. At least until it dried up the next day haha

Stuff like this is why I run studded tires in the winter. I don't care how good people say ATs are in the snow, it's not gonna come anywhere close to a good studded dedicated winter tire. Depending on where you live running a single set of tires all year can be anywhere from "fine" to "you can get away with it" to "what are you, stupid?".

Once you get a decent cadence doing the swap doesn't even take long so I'm not sure why so many people are so reticent to do it.

I had to drive about 50 miles on highway like towing a two place snowmobile trailer with my old Explorer. Needless to say it was a LONG 50 miles and I was happy when it was done and we weren't in the ditch.

Awesome avatar by the way. Was supposed to be in DC for a conference in August and planned to visit the Udvar-Hazy musuem to checkout the SR71. But the pricks canceled the conference.
