I'm running a 2" lift on 5100's with OME 887's. Shop said they couldn't adjust the caster any more for the passenger side. Truck pulls to the right noticeably. I just swapped out the stock Wranglers for Duratrac's and the problem is still there so I know it's not the tires.

Does a 2" lift with this barely in-the-red caster justify new UCA's?

UCAs no question about it. if you care about on-road handling, particularly highway stuff, then target over 3deg caster, and go as close to zero at your camber, keeping it even L & R, and try to stay with factory toe-in or close to it: 0.05deg toe-in per side also even L & R.

I accept it's not a race car and I intend to wheel-it so on-road performance isn't the biggest deal. I just don't want it to pull to one side and wear the new tires out. What UCA do you recommend? SPC? JBA?

for you i don't think it matters which ones as long as you can get more caster and push into the 3+ deg range. both will do that. SPCs can typically go further with caster. i have SPCs myself.

The price of SPCs hurts my soul but I'll look into them. Thanks for all the help brother

I have JBA's and they are pretty good, they will fix your alignment issues. SPC's will give you much more adjustability if you're going to go bigger than 33's

I'm probably not going bigger than 33's but I've said I'm probably not going to do a lot of things and I keep doing em so. Do you have the HD JBA's? I assume they're not needed unless you're wheeling hard

Just standard duty High caster. They are pretty beefy already lol, i highly doubt you'd have issues with them.

Yeah i'm at 4.5 degrees and the truck is riding great. The problem i've been seeing is alignment techs dont like to touch it because the number is so out of 'spec' which can be annoying lol

What's your thoughts on a lower drivers side caster to compensate for road crown (+/-0.5*)?

I'm not really an expert on the subject matter but from what I know its personal preference. Some people/shops like to add it, and some don't. I don't think it makes a huge difference regardless.

Very true. Many techs are not used to someone asking to purposely put the caster out of spec 1.5-2 degrees.

it's just some old school thing from back in the day when 2 lane roads were what cars were about and road crowns were significant and everywhere.

when's the last time you actually noticed one, enough to compensate for it? uneven caster changes the steering wheel's weighted feel across the sweep of the steering. 0.5deg isn't huge, but it's enough to change the feel left to right. not a consideration for many. speaking for myself i'm a kart & open wheel handling whore, and i've setup my truck around this level of response & handling. with everything i've put into it, i'll be damned if i'm gonna choose to make it wonky with an asymmetrical alignment. those only make sense on race circuits.
