Well, you apparently have a decent grasp on mathematics and statistics...

... not something particularly common among much of the public...

All this is doing is confirming that the death rate is lower, which will make people be less afraid of catching it. Test everyone in the world and I bet it's about the same as the flu (as the CDC has said recently as well).

The scary charts with skull and cross bones graphics gets more viewers and sells more ads though.

that's one thing I've been wondering. The testing rate has gone up. Will be a while before the data show us anything of value. Right now there is no good singular source for testing rates, it varies from state to state

I know not relevant (not a percentage measure), but today would be the 4th biggest Dow point drop ever if it closed right now!

Even within a state the rates of testing and infections vary widely by county.

    Here's GA - https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report

If you click on a county on the map you'll see the graph change to just that county. The four currently bright red counties make up a good bit of the metro atlanta area - and have pretty different graphs over time.

This graph is is interesting from a tests-per-day-per-thousand-people aspect - https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/daily-tests-per-thousand-people-smoothed-7-day

Bunch of other interesting data presentations like the above at this site - https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-testing

I looked your last two links on monday. It does seem to show that the US testing rates have gone up considerably over the last two weeks or so

Now whether or not that means that people are going more often because they are more paranoid now that they are around people again, is something we might not ever know unless they form a questionnaire during testings.

I don't think I'm going to sell this drop, I'll probably deploy the rest of my "safe" money into the markets, I think at this point people are confusing the raw numbers with testing rates..

You mean like the folks who aren't going to think we're safe until the "cumulative total cases" figures start to drop?:devil::devil:

I'd be willing to bet 100 million people have had it in the U.S. (30% of population).

How many people that do not want to be labeled as contagious will not want to be tested ? We drove by a free testing site today with no one in line . I and the wife thought about it but chose no .

I’m tempted to buy more BA even though they’re currently 27% (and dropping) of my portfolio.

If they paid a dividend, I'd have plowed a small fortune into it. I still think it will double faster than the market will double, but I'm just not interested in companies that don't pay their owners (me).

Here is a thought , airfare will go back to being just for the business's and the rich . More smaller planes needed with segmented domes of (silence ha ha ) individual fresh air , areas.

Well. Pissed I sold my VXX calls but stoked I was sitting at 75% cash. I see an emergency Fed meeting if this keeps up tomorrow. Negative rates might happen after all.
