I live an hour outside the city and most of what we had out here was just some large protests. All the the craziness stayed in the city from what I could tell.

 

For anyone who cares I had my truck stolen on 5/19 and thankfully got it recovered a week ago. I have to order some parts and am wondering what the preference is for oem parts.

The front suspension is tweaked a little bit and I am going to take it as a suggestion to refresh the front end 93k miles.

Plan is new OEM:
lower control arms w bushings and BJ’s
Lower control arm bolts
Wheel bearings
Inner and outer tie rods

I need to do the ECGS front diff bushing

I have JBA control arms that are less than a year old, I will check the BJ’s on those and replace if they show any signs of wear.

I will repair and reinforce the lower control arm alignment tabs as mine are tweaked from off roading.

I might also weld knuckle reinforcements plates for an extra measure of protection

I also need new OEM headlights and a grill. There are plenty of option for online OEM parts retailers, I also have the option of just ordering at Team Toyota’s parts desk.

Thoughts?

Yes it is good news. Thankfully it isn’t really in bad shape at all, head unit was gone and it’s pulling to the right a bit and has a pretty loud wheel bearing type sound from the drivers front. But otherwise seems like is the extent of the damage.

Going to take my time getting it sorted and get a few things fixed up that I’ve been putting off for a while.

Still without a garage of my own but I’ll figure it out.

Yea.. it just keeps getting thrown at us! House is getting close to finished thankfully and we should be moving home before the end of the summer hopefully. Wife’s still working on getting better everyday but she is doing good and is back to normalish for someone 40 years older than she is.

And SE PA locals have one of the ECGS diff bushing tools they don’t mind loaning out? Gotta do mine while I have the front end pulled apart.
