haha. you're hitting what i hit a little while ago. I jsut recently got the 1up super duty double. I haven't had the chance to really use it yet. However, I will say that it stows away VERY nicely on my truck. I can back into my garage and still have plenty of space to move around it. I've used 1-ups before on other vehicles and they're awesome on there so I don't expect any problems on my truck.

edit: my roommate bought a kuat a few weeks prior and after seeing how nicely my 1-up stows away, he got insanely jealous.

Best rack I’ve used. Running a topper full time, a hitch rack is pretty much the best route.

Unless someone sourced a used one, retail is the price paid by just about every 1up owner out there. Worth every penny.

@SummitBound @ginseng27 appreciate the feedback. I have been using a tailgate pad but with the Softopper it's getting to be a hassle. If I put two bikes on the 1up, will the handlebars contact the Softopper/canopy?

I have both the hitch racks and the roof trays(on my Prinsu). I don't ever recommend anyone buy anything but 1Up.

shouldn't. I tried messing around with my bike on my rack. I have a 780mm wide handlebar and they still provide enough space to put a bike on the tailgate pad. I think you'll be fine.

yeah...and they sell in less than an hour. I've come super close to getting one used but in the end, just decided to buy new and save the hassle.

No issues with my hardtop and running bikes with up to 800mm bars. You just need to stagger the bikes a little bit left to right (very easy to do) and dropping the seat on one or both bikes can be beneficial.

Damn! Like 7 responses in a matter of 3 minutes... You all have me wanting to pull the trigger just like that.

Heavy duty double or Super Duty Double or Equip-D Double? Which one?

heavy or super duty IMO. I went with super duty because I have an occasional heavy e-fat bike i might need to carry.

Dont think you'll ever hear anything negative about a 1up rack.

I went with whichever is the higher rated one. Might as well get the burliest one if the truck is gonna go off highway at all with the rack attached.

Also got mine pre-equipD. Honestly not sure what the difference is.

While we're on the topic of 1ups, has anybody used the flush mount system for a roof rack on 80/20 bed bars?

EDIT: just kidding, a quick search answered my question

yeah. it gets a little confusing. Essentially, get the super duty if you want the burliest one around for offroad use and stuff. and one that can handle the extra load on spots 3 and 4. but this chart works wonders

That Equip-D looks like an improvement on the two only problems with the original 1Up design...
    • the tilt mechanism is a pain to reach if have >2 trays
    • the lever to release the arms can "lock-up" if you don't hold it at the right angle (this one's kinda hard to explain, if that doesn't make sense)

yeah. they kinda solved the first issue with the EZ-pull handle. it does cost extra but it does work.

I know what you mean by the second one. kinda have to jiggle things about if it binds up like that.
