An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Initially, we went with a King mattress sheet set. It worked ok, but we ended up ditching the fitted sheet and just used the regular sheet in place of the fitted sheet. You can also keep an eye out on Amazon for the Tepui Autana/Kukenam 4 Fitted Sheets. Normally they are a crazy price, but last February I was able to score a set for $65. It's still not cheap, but it fits a 72X96 mattress perfectly. It wasn't the color we were originally looking at, but for over half off I didn't care.

We don't store the pillows in the tent. I think the tent would close just fine, but with all the blankets and a few other things, the tent is fairly full when we close it. Also, the wife is worried about the pillows being squished for a prolonged period of time and flattening out.

It can be done as seen in my avatar but it takes a little patience. You can either take the front fairing and rear bar off to have enough room for your hands to tighten the mounts or you can attach the crossbars to the tent first then put it on the rack.

I’ve been following along for awhile now, great thread btw. Here’s how mine was setup for a little while until I made bars to get it lower and over the bed.

How much did having it uptop kill your mpg? I’m considering mine uptop for an upcoming trip .

Mine is the extended version. Is there a market for annexes? I have never used it so should sell it. Went from a full height rack to mid height bars so can't use it now anyway.

Idk. I can’t find just annex’s on cvt’s website and the only ones that come up in google are smittybilt, and other no name brand ones.

can you pack up your annex with the tent and put it all under the same cover or are you guys having to reattach it every time?

Currently have a tepui kukenam 3 and thinking of an annex but the ladder would be on the outside of the annex.

That’s how mine would be but I’m fine with that. I’m wanting an annex for the dogs to sleep in so their not in the truck or in the ground tent with the kids.

I have never attached mine. I cannot imagine it would fit under the CVT cover tho.

You have to remove it every time you pack the tent.

Did another thing: mounted my Front Runner roof load bars and a non-name brand RTT on the cruiser. The tent is a "Rapter Series Offgrid Voyager" rooftop tent, and it heavily resembles the original Freespirit Recreation M55 tents (probably is the same tent lol). The mattress is really comfortable - much more so than my CVT Mt. Shasta from before and on par with my FSR 55" High Country, if not slightly more comfy. All the seams look heavily sealed, the canvas material is nice and thick, and setup is easy. My only criticism is the quality of the buckles on the cover, but otherwise it seems like it's a great tent for the price. These Front Runner load bars are really nice, especially for the price. If I were going with a typical clamshell RTT, I probably would've gone with a full rack to take advantage of the remaining roof space, but since this style tent covers the whole roof, it seemed like a bit of a waste of money. My buddies at Vagabond Outdoors are a FR dealer, so I may add another load bar for the tent and one for a wind fairing, but the setup works just fine right now.

I had the same thought for my dogs, but I only have the mid-height rack so spending $300 or so just didn't seem realistic as most of it would be on the ground. And I had heard of how much space it takes up when packed away. Solution? .. 2-person tent with a dog bed!

get outta here with that logical thinking!

I actually love that idea since I have a mid height rack and an old 2 person tent collecting dust in storage.

That’s for the kids and it ain’t here yet. It said estimated delivery June 26th - august 19th lol. I should have said it would have been June 26th- “until you forget you even bought it” since that’s the way it goes lol.
