what made you switch to the welded plate for the filter mount? I was thinking of doing it the first way you had it mainly do to lack of welding ability.

did everyone stick with 6an similar to what @Lucario Runner had in his posts? Saw some other mentions of 8an.

Anyone know the lengths of The lines needed to purchase? If possible I’ll try to tackle this when I do the fuel pump.

Choice. Adds a little frame rigidity. Don't have to drill into the frame.

-8AN, if you have the aftermarket fuel rail.

We just took a tape measure, and lined it out. With a little extra to be safe.

Also, easier to deal with the hoses and filter outside the frame vs. inside. The length would be dependent on you for cab config, where you mount and run the lines. I like to go for extra incase a cut in the hose wasn't great and needs a revision. Also I went with ptfe for ethanol protection.

Thanks I’ve seen a bunch. Was curious the major benefit.

based on visual it assumption was it was a ease of access to the lines etc.

Makes sense, looks like you had extra I wasn’t sure if they were easy to cut or not with the sleeve. I did a rough measurement but didn’t order yet.

for PTFE would they be good to add regardless? 6 an should be sufficient enough?

I wouldn't go without ptfe due to modern gas. For you though going by your truck and do trail stuff unless the filter protrudes below your skids then I would say go for the inside frame approach. This is where mocking up and planning will net the best results. easiness of cut depends on tools and hose. There are some good hose cutters out there. Unless your wanting 500bhp then I believe 6 an will be fine. your limiter honestly is the pump.

Lots of guys on YouTube with LS V8 sub 1000hp engines run -6AN. How much HP are you looking to run? Lots of guys here with stock fuel lines getting over 400hp. At -6AN you’re still way ahead of stock lines.

I have the group buy fuel rails and upgraded fuel pump so I’m running -8an with external filter and -6AN return. Likely an overkill. But maybe someday I’ll stroker out my old engine and need the increased fuel flow.

I kinda like this idea. I noticed some chips on my filter but no deformations on the filter body.

I do have the aftermarket rails but not installed yet. I assume with aftermarket you would run all the way.
I was thinking about clearance Since it’s somewhat exposed. Maybe a filter “skid”

honestly who knows what where I’ll want to go. I’d rather future proof than not b if going to 8an has negative affects I’ll stick to 6 an. Seems like most with the fuel rails are going 8 an. I doubly I’ll go below a 2.5 anytime soon. not sure about other heavy items. Only think I could think of is going kelby route but not anytime soon.

Nice I didn’t notice the other wall. I was even thinking of a bolt on bottom piece for lower protection.

makes sense That’s the kind of the mindset I am in. I have the rails but not installed. Did you install the GB rails already?

As for color the I wanted to pay homage to my one of my dream cars, a bayside blue BNR34 GTR. Since they came equipped with gold brembo calipers I tried the same.

Also my new to me lower intake manifold showed up and what a great score. Came with injectors, rail, dampner, fpr. Sometimes eBay and toliet time pays off big. Gonna port and coat this one, not sure on color yet.

Do you need anything specific to cut these lines? Partially due to first time messing with the fuel lines I was not sure if I could go long and cut back or if I had to buy to length. Buying extra makes sense. My FST arrived yesterday and I hope to tackle this and Fuel pump at the same time.

Another thing to consider is if you have a performance shop near you see if they can cut and crimp hoses to the length you need.

good point. thanks for the link that makes sense. I have most of that available. Did you crimp all? I assume I just need a large hydraulic crimper? I have one up to a certain size. I wonder if it will fit 6an or 8an though.

Still debating if i should go with 6 or 8. not sure ill have the rails in soon

Not crimped but they have a recess where the sealing portion goes. You can choose that or crimp ed. As for the fueling I plan on still using my current sizing of 6an with the supercharger. You can use either if you wanted it to just be the same for example. You will br perfectly fine with either and a good pump.
