Missing Transmission cooler.

Hello, first post for me. I bought a 2020 Tacoma TRD Offroad and I don’t see a transmission cooler. My buddy also bought one with the exact same specs but his has one. i don’t know how that can be. Any ideas?

 

Do you have the tow package?

 

If this was the case then you purchased one with a receiver installed rather than the tow package like he did.

 

He doesn’t have a tow package listed either.

 

Trans cooler only comes with the tow package. Listed or not, it wasn’t installed by mistake.

 

We both have the receiver.

 

He has tow package.

 

Could I have a factory one installed?

 

It would be pricey to add a tow package after the fact. But you could.

aftermarket would be less expensive.

 

Its 1 hour, 6 minutes short of Friday.............

 

I’m pretty sure all v6 tacos come with the tow package after 2019.

Didn’t know they became standard.
Either way.. no cooler = no tow.

 

Did they maybe get rid of the trans cooler? I remember when the 2016s came out supposedly it was something that was added by the dealership during PDI, and a lot of people with the tow package were having issues with the trans fluid level being a quart low or something like that since the techs weren't topping it off. I'm thinking toyota maybe got rid of it due to issues with dealers. Maybe someone else can chime in?

Your best bet would be to contact toyota corporate and ask them.

 

I guess I will have to go after market.

 

Good idea, I will contact Toyota Corporate. I do know he has an extra cooler that I don’t have, I’m pretty sure it’s a Trans cooler. Will check his out tomorrow.

 

Is your pickup manual or auto trans?

 

Auto
