If you would possibly consider something smaller I'd highly recommend a VW GTI. I've had my 2017 6 speed manual since new and 22K miles and its been an excellent "little" car. It's actually somewhat roomy inside for what it is. It makes the turbo noises you're after while being economical. My commute I can average 35-40mpg depending on how I use the skinny pedal. I know it isn't AWD, but it still handles decent. I've only done oil changes and tire rotations so far. The interior is definitely nicer that the WRX IMO, I've been in both.

Plus it looks downright awesome with tint:

Subie was a cop magnet, he worked night shift and police pulled him over regularly. Was a cool little ride, ran awesome! Had the optional short throw shifter and man you could bang it!

I came from a manual car before I bought my truck and I do miss driving it also. My truck should be paid off in December. I plan on buying a daily car thats manual most likely would be a GTI hatch.

Bought my first VW in 2013; a 2008 Jetta with the 5 cylinder and 5 speed. After that I was hooked. Unfortunately at this time I'm looking to downsize my fleet so I've been entertaining selling the GTI. I bought it during a time I had a company van so it was then practical. Now having to drive over the mountain daily 4wd is definitely required as I calling off is not really an option... Yea I can drive it during the summer, but paying insurance on 3 vehicles is getting a little old.

Yeup big dent too, two decent size spots where the paint chipped off down to the bare metal, window can't go down, door handle bent (still latches) and the top left corner doesn't seat with the cab. :annoyed::frusty:
