Mine too usually, but I’ve been filling up the savings account lately at these prices. I want to see a real crash, I’ll get a few more jobs if that happens.

Depends on the stock. Sometimes it's immediate and other times it's next business day.

Stocks are T+2. So transaction date plus 2 business days. If you sell Monday it clears Wednesday.

Usually 3 business days for the funds to be available to be withdrawn but you can normally buy stocks withe the funds right away. Options will need to wait for the funds to settle. I think it has something to do with SEC rules

That just means your trading on unsettled funds. Your broker allows it because you have more cash in your account then the settlement amount. T+2 for stocks. T+1 for options.

They can but it's up to the contract stipulation. OTC is not regulated by the SEC or FINRA.

I got my good faith violation already, so I learned a lot about it at that time. I don’t think I could withdraw the funds after a sale, like you said.

as mentioned depends. But typically it’s immediate from a sale in order to buy more securities but a few days before you can wirthdraw to bank.

Right now futures are green. Not bigly but green. Japan, don’t screw it up overnight :p lesson learned follow my gut a little bit more with my monopoly monies and also stop losses are your friend and enemy.

Sell stock on day 1, you can immediately buy stock with that $ but then it MUST remain in that stock until day 3. Sell stock on day 1, withdraw cash on day 3...

Love the headline vs the reality..

Just signed up with Robinhood a month or so ago. Got the free stock and haven’t done anything with it. Kids at work have it too and have been making some decent cash so far.... Kevin has made $4,000 bucks another friend $2,000. Been reading the posts and hoping to learn a bit about trading before getting started. Was considering energy stocks since they are down... Can’t believe they won’t go up. Anyway I’m gonna try to stick with the big name companies and not get greedy. Speaking of “Big Names” can anyone explain this to me... why did Boeing stock go so high? They once averaged $30 to $60 price wise then all of a sudden years back of course shot up to $400 something. How does that happen and why? I was expecting a split but up it went and stayed up. The company had the 787 production so I get that but it eventually didn’t do so well. Tanker battle that they won hasn’t went well production wise. 747-8 didn’t fair very well and now the 737 max debacle. How is it a company that produced bombers during WW II and Cold War era and then go on to produce the 747 end up failing so miserably on a 737 of all things? Not sure how stock market justifies their current stock price. Can’t believe for a second they haven’t been able to fix this problem yet, it’s only what they profess to do. Because of this everyone associated with Boeing has hit a brick wall. Virus has done in the airlines and Boeing. So what’s the justification of the high price of Boeing stock? What stocks should I be looking into? Like a lot of others economy is beating us up around here. I’m almost at retirement age and probably will end up living in my Tacoma. Need to understand a few things and hopefully make some decent supplemental cash too like Kevin. Currently working for a company devastated by low fuel prices, virus, airlines and Boeing. I hate planes...nowadays!

I had the same thought except NVDA July $350 calls. Buy the dip.

Next time just remind me to let VXX calls expire worthless. Had you and I kept them those "worthless" calls would have made a 200% return. I made the classic mistake of doing my research then changing my mind mid-play. Not based on fundamentals but based on reaction to a loosing position. No matter how good you think you are with your system it is really hard to keep emotion out of it. I'd like to say I learned my lesson but it's a lesson I've learned before. I'm sure I'll do it again in the future but I won't for at least a few months. lol

Yeah, VXX are "Lottery Ticket" calls...You have to be ready to lose, but also to win BIG...Research shows that VXX ALWAYS settles to 'zero' so loooong puts are a very good bet right now with it up so high...

I also found out about 'contango' which is why the calls for ROKU were so out of wack... https://www.investopedia.com/articles/07/contango_backwardation.asp

Hmm. Looks as though Robinhood fvcked me yesterday.

had a stop loss on NRGU at 5.68. Says it went at 4.50. Lost a lot because of that.
