3.4L supercharger

An interesting data point from me....since installing the supercharger, my average MPG has gone from 16.3 to 17.0 according to the ultra gauge. I’ll take it!

USB-serial cable has been ordered so I’ll be able to adjust my tune soon.

 

@1997tacomav6 are larger injectors a must with the fic6 or can I just tune within their limits

 

It all depends on your engine health and the size pulley your going to.

I don’t have the fic6 setup, but I didn’t need the methonal until I got down to a 2” pulley after the fuel pump was replaced.

Before the fuel pump was replaced I needed the methonal for the 2.1 pulley.

Every engine will react a little differently.

If you have carbon buildup in your valve you will run leaner too

 

is this a 1st gen grey unit that can be ported.

 

Nope, it’s not a two piece design.

It can be on the inlet and outlet but not the important part the center section

 

1st gen has these bolts that come off and you can access the top for porting.
Black supercharger is one casting instead of two parts

 

Any idea where one could be found?

any disadvantage to going with the grey one? I’d really like to have one I can get ported.

 

Parts are harder to find if something major broke like the case or something.
But that doesn’t happen to often unless something catastrophic happened.

If you get the grey one you want all the hardware and brackets, bolts to install it because some of those parts are hard to find

 

Thanks, I was afraid I was going to have to spend another few hundred on injectors fuel pump and spark plugs. Put those next in line but not immediately in.

Also does anyone have wiring diagrams for a 2000 5vz from ca? And one for 2002? I’m going to edit a boomslang harness so I can use it for my truck.

There’s no such thing as a “Cali” truck. It’s no different than any other truck from that year.

you probably should use cooler spark plugs like the IK22.

Boomslang make a plug and play harness for your truck. No need to modify.

If you think you can do the wiring you can buy a harness for MUCH cheaper from autosportwiring.

 

Yes, but the aem fic6 I got from a person on here is coming with a boomslang harness for a 2002 so I should only have to modify a couple wires to fix for pin outs on my truck and then I will have a harness. That is why I was asking for wiring diagrams on a 2000 and a 2002.

 

A “Cali” truck would probably mean it came with an EGR system and the CPU part number would be different with a different wiring setup or maybe added wires for reading the EGR.
BUT I’m not sure that would change the FIC6 setup.
You have an EGR?

 

No, once you hit the year 2000 I was told it is a different machine for smog, I assumed that this is because of the o2? But either way, no egr on my truck (cali spec)

 

Ok, yes, if it was earlier and made in California it came with an EGR, so would not apply to you then

 

Lucky me, was always wondering if you could rig methanol to the egr port on the sc, same as the 7th.

 

No, methonal gets applied infront of the throttle body most the times.
Mush easier to access to clean and change,
You can run it through the EGR port if you have no 7th injector tho

 

but to do it so it looks like a 7th and have the Cali sticker for the trd 7th would pass visual out here
