I would pay the extra for the PX6 MAX 6. I got this one from Amazon. Arrived in a few days, fit like a glove with no tapered sides, and came with all the wires and CANBUS. Only thing is I had to use a dremel to adjust the bracket holes back. But other than that, I had it plugged in and going in 10-minutes.

Not sure what the +$94 gives you but the PX6 you have on the way is very good. I know its double the speed of the PX5 and loads ROM/Firmware faster along with apps are more responsive. Also, the PX6 touchscreen/digitizer is more sensitive. Overall you are good to go. Also, go join XDA Developer forum and start reading on your unit. There is an update process to get the most optimized, good experience and resolve a lot of the little bugs.

This unit is awesome! I gave up on getting the bezel to fully sit with the OEM brackets. It’s slightly off, but I’ll try to fix it eventually. Thanks for everyone’s help and guidance. This thread makes life a little easier.

I'm a retired Navy Twidget.....never happy.....always looking for something better, faster ..... The Dasita units are great, very flexible, but they are a little slower than dedicated units from Pioneer/Kenwood/Alpine. I have put a Pioneer in my last 4 vehicles. Anyway, I was in a mood to upgrade from my PX5, back in March. I was looking at the PX6 MAX and the new Pioneer units. No one had posted any installs of the Pioneer 6600NEX, so I was hesitant to move to that unit. I pulled the trigger on my PX6 (direct replacement for my PX5) and sold my PX5. My vehicle has been sitting in the garage since all the Covid hoopla started in Mid March. I drove it to work and back two times (less than an hour total run time.) When I saw all the posts of successful installs of the 6600 during the month of May, I went to the local car stereo shop and played with it, finally breaking down and buying the full install kit from Crutchfield. Now .... PX5 to PX6 was a fantastic upgrade on two accounts. The boot time and transition to CarPlay was about 10 seconds or more faster, and it was consistent without having to fiddle with anything (my PX5 gave me fits some days, with bluetooth to wifi connection). The second point is the PX6 has a DSP and sound quality was much better than the PX5.

Now let's touch on the 6600. The unit is complete. Sound quality is even cleaner than the PX6. I have the OEM Audio Plus Reference system with a single sub. When I crank on the 6600, it is clean, no distortion what so ever, just as I would expect from a high end Pioneer head unit. I will say the biggest advantage the PX6 has over the pioneer unit is the sticker shock. The full setup installed is half the price, and honestly, unless you are AROC like myself, most people could not tell the difference. The second plus for the PX6 would be the flexibility. If you are looking to run Android Apps for non audio things, the PX6 is your baby.

I purchased a front camera and the controller (RFCC TTG2 Car Camera Control System) and it works with both units as designed. Both head units can control two cameras, without the controller, the only difference being that you will have to manually figure out how to program the steering wheel controls for the same response that you get out of the dedicated controller. You can put a shortcut to both cameras on the screen of both unit, but that means you would have to futz with the head unit when you wanted the cameras. I am lazy and since the anytime camera system worked, I just left it in for now.

If you wish to flip the next track buttons, last line left side of the pick you posted, change it to swap

Power down. Make sure the brown canbus box is connected correctly. Reseat the connectors on the three main harnesses and then power back up.

Do you have any pics of how you drilled the new holes, I’m having a PIA fitting the bezel to fit fully on?

I made a template using a card stock of the holes in the in the PX6, making sure to note the distance to the face of the new radio. Then I reinstalled the brackets on the entune unit with the card stock between the bracket and the head unit, again accounting for the distance to the face of the entune unit. Now trace the bracket outline on the card stock. Remove the bracket from the radio, align the template and bracket to the outline trace, and transfer your drill locations to the bracket. That will put you in the ball park. Then oblong the holes as necessary to tweak your alignment where you want it.
