Hey folks! Heading to Huntsville tonight or tomorrow morning from Atlanta to scout out the area for a new career opportunity I’ve just accepted.

Looking for a spot to do some primitive camping in/around the area. Any suggestions? I see Monte Sano State Park, is there any good camping there?

Also, any places in the city I need to check out while I’m there?

Thanks for having me, excited to move here!

Hey and welcome to the thread! Quite a few of us in the Huntsville area, so others will chime in too I’m sure, but for camping I’d say Monte Sano is the only in city area. I think their prices are online for a campsite. Really good area for hiking and biking and scenic views, I’m actually going to be biking up there tomorrow morning.

as far as seeing things in the city, Huntsville has a really strong brewery scene. Check out campus 805 and The Stovehouse, right beside each other. Highly recommend eating at Straight to Ale.

how long will you be here for?

I was looking for a camper shell for my Gen 2 and ran upon your thread. Glad to see all of you. Now I will spend the rest of the weekend catching up on all this reading. If you know of anyone selling a black gen 2 Camper shell I am in the market. NOT into the offroad scene as much as some of you are, but I do hunt and fish and need one to lock up some goodies.

Great seeing all of your rides.

Hoover, Nothing fancy, as she sits in the driveway right now. Older now, so it stays pretty simple.

Are you able to say where your career opportunity is? Are you coming in to scope out for somewhere to live?
