TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I just ported my SC a conservative amount. The inlet at the rotors basically can't be ported at all due to thin wall thicknesses everywhere. The whole inlet from the throttle body to the rotors can be smoothed but can't grind too much because of thin wall thickness. I opened the outlet probably 15% at the rotors, inlet at the rotors 2% (guessing) and smoothed the inlet runners and ported and port matched the SC outlet into the runners. Smoothed the inlet from the throttle body too.

Have no idea on effect it will have cause truck still waiting for alt pulley then I'm in business.

Also did cam gears, FJ tube and Maf, tundra throttle body, urd equal length (non SIA), urd lightweight flywheel, full NST pullies, spec 3+ clutch, hydro bearing, and solid SC coupler so it's gonna be impossible to gauge how much improvement from any single thing

 

Funny coming from a guy that was swearing by smaller pulleys not too long ago.

It took a little bit of tuner data findings from @JustDSM for me to find that spinning the blower to the moon is a bad thing. Coincidentally all of the drivability issues went away including the pause at take off as soon as I went back to the larger pulley and now all is well.

smooth always wins with porting. removing/adding material for flow bench testing is a whole different science. i learned from my dad building champion competion chainsaws. for a shade tree mechanic he was beating guys from fully sponsored shops.

Oh yeah, 2.8 pulley FTW. Went down to mexico and ended up next to a 5.0 mustang with some bolts on's and a old timer with a heavy foot and the Harley can't let it idle while not moving attitude. A little rev back and it was on. Not even close. Pretty sure he had no clue a truck that is as heavy as mine can launch that hard. 4.88's do it right. Just lucky he didn't want to go to the top end. LOL.
