I remember when I first got my TRD Pro grille around the same time you did, didn't see it on any other truck besides the pro for years and now this year almost every tacoma ive seen has that grille, you'd think they come standard with that grille now.
Well it was unique while it lasted.

Ah well toss my truck in the "trend" bucket list. I just bought a grille, lights, etc.

Did you ever hear back from TRS on an ETA? Anyone else receive their harness from Mike recently? Placed my order on May 4 and am still anxiously waiting.

What the TRD Grille? The R4T grilles are nice too.

 

The LED headlights/fogs. I would not pay full price for the grille, the knock offs are almost identical and probably the same factory.

No, they do not offer the LED headlights for TRD Sport versions unless you get the full full package which I did not get (Sunroof, leather seats, etc). I bought mine without the luxury package because I didn't need any of it.

 

Maybe for your region allocations, but you can get it without, I assure you.

Well I didnt get it and if you do not get it that way, they wont sell you the lights for $500. They say its due to the wiring harness.

 

Correct, whole different wiring setup from factory. And Toyota is weird with how they do allocations, you can do a special order allocation if your region doesn't typically order trucks in the spec your looking for (such as your case, non prem w/LEDs) just takes a bit longer and have to have a dealer that's willing to cooperate as most will tell you it can't be optioned that way (seems like yours did) which is not really the case.

 

Well if I knew then what I know now, I would have said "Wait, get me LED headlights". That said, the MESO LED taillight conversion is very nice and for now, I replaced my H11's with LED and they're brighter/nicer. I have the LED headlight conversion kit coming so I have to wait for someone to get rear-ended to sell me the factory LED lights -- at a decent price

 

Yep I just acquired a free set of meso tails, they are great, and the factory LED head / fogs can't be beat.

 

Believe some of the orders placed are supposed to be shipping today. Looking forward to getting mine.
