Did you ever get a hardshell rrt on your setup? I currently have both the cabrack and toprack from prinsu on my truck. I just installed an iKamper Skycamp. I'm considered about the flex between the back rack and the cap rack. Just curious what you did. Thanks!

I just bought a prinsu rack. Quick question. Would you guys recommend drilling a hole through the rubber water guard or cutting it. I watched a youtube video of an install and the guy said you can do either method. He did the drill hole method but I am not sure that I would be as accurate as it would require.
    thanks

If you’re going for accuracy using a punch is the best method. You’ll have to flip the rubber over and cut out sections of a thin metal bar that runs the length of the rubber. Once you do that a leather lunch will go through it like butter. Definitely the most aesthetic solution.

I had a roof near sandpiper on my toprack, for clearance I used 1x2 steel tubing between rack and tent base. No issues after that. 1” is all that’s really Usually needed.

I ended up going and getting anti-vibration rubber pads for air compressors and putting them on each crossbars where the tent bars touched. They work really well - add height and reduce the metal on metal wear/noise.

Sweet, i tried using a 1/2" plastic spacer but just needed a bit more height for when the truck was flexed out. It got annoying hearing the tent hit the cabrack on trails.

Does anyone have experience using a Prinsu top rack for transporting sheets of wood or drywall?
My concern is that the sheets would be wider (48"-49") than the rack, and I would want to make sure that they can be secured well.
    Thanks!

I’ve done it a ton. Hell I’ve put 4 6x6 20ft long posts on top of my cab rack with no issues.

Just that much higher you need to lift the drywall.
In all honesty I have too many accessories already mounted to the rack so I still carry drywall in the bed, tallgate up with three 2x3s evenly spaced for support . Can get about 4 sheets before the snug top opening becomes too narrow for a 4 ft wide sheet

Good to know. It was mostly just about the width of the sheets.

Holy crap. I thought I was bad with 12' poles.

I will have zero permanently mounted accessories, so it will be wide open for whatever gear or crap to haul, and a good workout is good for you. (unless you throw your back out...)

Do you know if that iKamper Skycamp would fit on the prinsu cabrack by itself? Without the toprack? I only have a cabrack and wondering if it would fit without purchasing a bed rack. Thanks.

I would say no to the Skycamp 4x, but the mini would fit.

    - Skycamp 4x is 160lbs and ~86” long
    - Skycamp mini is 125lbs and ~57” long

I have what is likely a super-rookie question. Prinsu rack is successfully installed on my DCSB. I need a pair of traction boards in preparation for a beach. I'm gripped with indecision on which ones to order (either Maxtraxx or preferably RototraX) based on how to mount them. I want to mount the boards in a front-to-back orientation between a yet to be purchased driver side cargo box and my already installed passenger side awning.

What mounting hardware is needed to accommodate this, and how is this positioned on the rack rails? I cannot seem to find what exactly would be require and a bit of guidance would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Your cheapest option would be to us the Eye bolts that came with the rack, spread them as wide as the boards, and use bungee cords.

Anyone have any luck adding longer bars to their Cabrac?

might be carrying two canoes in the future and need 60+” bar widths.
