ANY ad selling a tailgate ought to be an instant red flag. Seriously does anybody know ANYONE that took the tailgate off a Tacoma then thought "know what I should do? Sell this."

Just end this nonsense. Have her file an insurance claim for the tailgate, you steal the tailgate mod idea from TW, call it your own to impress her and install it for her. She offers you several beers during install but it took 3 hours due to you getting tipsy and trying to secretly viewing YouTube for the install. She ends up guiding your unsteady hand to tightened the clamp bolt with her hand. Her breasts brushes up against your arm and you take that opportunity to go for a kiss.

Unfortunately, it didn't go well. She slaps you and closes the tailgate on your hand which leaves you screaming like, in her words, " a bitch". She continues the verbal onslaught of of you leaving blood stains on her new tailgate as you tuck your tail and drive off.

So OP, the moral of the story is just have her file a claim with her insurance and stay out of it, you horny bastard(her words)

I had a $1400 chainsaw and $500 backpack blower stolen out of my shed in March, filed a police report, chainsaw and blower showed up on LetGo the following weekend. The guy selling it used his FB login on LetGo, I took screen caps of the ad and called the officer who took my report. He basically told me only detectives setup buy stings and he forwarded my case over to the detective team. 3 days later I get a call back from a detective asking for all the same details I provided the officer. I'm going on 3 months with no resolution. I think my best course of action would have been to go buy the chainsaw back myself for the $800 he was asking and had a friend in the car filming the transaction. Point being, they aren't sending out the CSI units for robberies like this and unless you spoon feed them they aren't going to do much with your case.

 

The only legitimate situation I can think of would usually involve white tailgates off of fleet units. One of the local pest control companies bought like 35 white access cabs and immediately had commercial shells put on them that deleted the tailgates. The dealer I worked at a couple of years ago got hit by thieves and they took every tailgate on the lot, including the two used tacos we had. Had to go buy two of those take offs and have them painted. (In hindsight I think we forgot to rekey them, oops)

Let's back up a few days:
OP is sitting in the break room eating his daily ham sandwich. Attractive woman with a tan year round who he never thought he had a chance with comes into said break room complaining her tailgate was stolen (saying intelligent things, including but not limited to "I feel, like, violated"). After straightening his tie and combining his mustache he approaches the coworker in her cubicle with the solutions. The coworker (who's name is probably Emily) has a thankful yet surprised look on her face because she has no idea who this guy is in her cubicle talking about a tailgate that was actually stolen off her boyfriend Trevor's truck. The next day when the OP checks in with Emily, he finds she dropped the ball because instead of taking his advice she went out drinking with her girlfriends and talked about this weird guy at work who she's never met in her life giving her advice, then proceeds to complain about how Trevor only cares about crossfit, treats her like garbage, and why can't she just find a nice guy tob nfsyj fathbf dshbt nkydeu.?lmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
