I haven’t lost my spark yet but I’ve definitely gone from being lean to being disgusting in the matter of about a month. Now that the baby is here sleep and diet has gone to shit. I’ll be able to get one of those under control at the end of the month but I don’t think I’ll ever have a regular sleeping pattern again. I’m currently up until about 2-3am and then off/on sleep until 10am. If I’m lucky I’ll catch a nap mid day but that’s rare. It’s usually caffeine, sugar, and soldier on...

Someone created a “meal train” for us and we’ve been having food delivered to us daily so I’ve completely quit trying to manage any sort of diet and just enjoying all the treats. It’s set to end on Jun22 so after that I’ll get back on track. I’ve only gained about 8-10lbs but it’s very noticeable when I look in the mirror. Will be interesting to see how hard the cut will be this go around considering I was still 20lbs heavier than this last year when I began the last cut that ended so well

Congratulations on the little one!
It’s challenging for sure! However, it’s an Amazing feeling being a parent. You grow & become stronger in so many other areas. Your body will go back to that desired look later on when you can get back to training the way you did before so don’t worry man.

    Firstly congratulations!

Secondly, you’ll get back to it. In the meantime just try to keep portions reasonable and not worry excessively about it.

And things will get better. Eventually he’ll go to college

Kids are a perpetual quest for "...as soon as..."

...as soon as they're potty trained I can quit buying diapers
...as soon as they're out of day care I can quit paying that
...as soon as they're out of the "sport du jour" I can quit paying for registrations and equip
...as soon as they're out of college I can quit paying tuition, car insurance, phone bills, room and board
...as soon as they're off probation I can quit paying the lawyer
...as soon as they're fully employed I can quit paying house down payment
...as soon as they're fully responsible I can quit investing in their businesses
    ...then,,,,,, I'm dead...

Or some set of these and/or others.

But, they're still the best thing to happen to us!

Made the mistake of coming to the gym to deadlift instead Of just doing it at home.

    1: forgot my chalk
2: there’s no one here so any motivation is out the window anyway. What’s the point in deadlifting if no one is around the see or hear it?

worked up to a very heavy 435 then backed off to 365 for 4x4.

If no one sees a deadlift, does it happen?

It’s bad for you, either way.

Apparently I’m a conventional deadlifter now. Have an angry adductor that won’t seem to stop nagging me. Sumo makes me “feel” it. Still making my sets just fine so I’ll take it.

    Happy Saturday, gym rats.

I’ll be back to team cheater ASAP. Feels so awkward.

Only thing I like about it is it doesn’t destroy my shins.
