New Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX flush mount install

I ordered mine from crutchfield. They gave me ZERO installation stuff. No wire crimps, Nothing!

 

If you buy all of the necessary maestro parts it is minimal wiring. Maestro site is very user friendly for downloading the firmware to the maestro rr. You will need a handful of red butt connectors, strippers and crimps. If you buy the 6600 you can even use the pictures of the side to set up your brackets. Will need a drill and drill bits

 

Let me rephrase that.

None of it was free, they just told me everything I needed and gave me the option to select it and order it at the same time. The only 2 things that were not included in what they offered was the sxm tuner and the gps/satellite adapter but a quick call and they had me hooked up with the correct adapter. I already knew about the sxm tuner, it was one of the offered accessories.

Yea. I was always told that they provide wire crimps and other items. They’re prices were comparable and it is nice that they recommend the correct parts. I have seen that they throw in the speaker adapters when u order the speakers. Seems like a good company. Would of liked to order it from bestbuy so I could of purchased the Geek Squad warranty. It was 4 years instead of three and $30 cheaper. Oh well

 

I’ve bought a few things from them and have never received crimps or stuff like that but it’s never been implied either.

When I ordered speakers they gave me the adapters with them. I might have had to pay for the harness though.

 

Thanks! I ended up purchasing everything separately (Amazon, Best Buy, etc) since crutchfield is sold out.
I was curious about others talking about the kit from crutchfield. When I tried to purchase the head unit, it was showing as not compatible with my taco (JBL), and didn’t have any suggested “kits”.

 

You will need all of the idatalink maestro parts. If you put your truck info into their website and select all options correctly. It will show you all the parts you need!

Maestrorr or rr2
Maestro T02 harness
Radio antenna adapter
Oem gps adapter
Usb to oem USB adapter - if u want to retain the one in your dash
And ( some kind of bypass for the video)
If u want to be able to watch while driving. I am still looking into this. There is one advertised on eBay and I am waiting for the seller response. I tried the one from my last unit which was still a (NEX) series but it did not work

you can also write down all of the part #’s and search for them from Amazon, eBay, etc...

I bought this one but it doesn’t work. Someone else in this thread said a bypass won’t work since it goes off GPS.

Love the new stereo. Having some odd issues with the maestro rr2. Reads some items but not others. Also, many options grayed out on the left. Is this normal?

Can you get android wireless? Can this be rooted

 

it does do wireless android and CarPlay. Unsure about root access. Normally these head units are pretty locked down. Surprised no one seems to hack them like they seem to hack every other system but who knows?

Connected new wc6600nex, have carplay wireless working, bluetooth as well, can also connect via usb too. However, the microphone isnt working and even more disturbing, is that i am unable to connect to the caravassist app. I have been connected via wifi, tried using my phone as a hotspot, tried usb, tried bluetooth, but keeps saying "Pioneer in-dash receiver is not connected. Please check connection."
I have factory reset it, tried my wifes iphone, same thing. I dont have a droid to test right now. Is there a place to download a updated firmware to try? I was pissed off at the microphone not working first and then this. Yes, i ran the wire from headunit to oem location, not a fun task. Any thoughts whatsoever is appreciated, i have been working on this so F#$@ing long today, that I drained my battery to the point of having to jump it with my wifes highlander.... I know my neighbor had a laugh.
