currently you can only install the 2020 led headlights on trucks that came with the led drl, Mike, aka (runnerdude67) makes the harness for 3rd gens. He said he would make a harness for the halogen variant Tacoma's in the future. As far as aftermarket the morimotos xb led's and Alpharex nova's.

What Chris said ^. However for drop in leds honestly the sylvanias have been the best for me in projector and reflector headlights. In aftermarket leds you want as little space as possible between the chips on both sides which mimic the filaments in halogens better and anything more then 2 sides is a gimmick. Sylvanias have a clean cutoff line and actually throw light down the road unlike 90% of aftermarket leds.

or are you speaking of full headlight assemblies with leds?

difficult to install? Looks good but are they worth the money? They are plug and play as far as bulb housings go right? What i mean is, no crazy wiring to the battery and they use stock bulbs and harnesses?

Honestly I would just wait it out, the 2020 led's look better imo. What looks ugly on Aplarex's headlight is the light up logo on the corners.

So morimotos and alpharexs should be plug-n-play. Youd need the harness if you the 2020 oems.

According to one of the threads, theyre removing the blacked out part on the logo area for the v2. Its still there...but the whole thing lights up so its harder to see. But agreed, oem looks best.

His harness would be different since he has a TRDOR which came with the led drl. They go from a 5 plug to a single plug. Our SR5's have 4 plugs. Basically he made his own harness instead of buying one already made.

People actually spend this kind of scratch on headlights?

The oem headlights for 2020 are more, around 670 on average per light.

They are not really difficult to install but do require removing the front bumper cover and grill. They were worth it to me because I wanted to go full LED not just headlights (turn signals and marker lights too). They definitely out perform the OEM halogen, I have never seen a comparison to the OEM LED. They are complete replacements so the connectors for the stock bulbs plug into them but the LEDs are built in and not replaceable separately. Mine where a direct swap because my TRDOR already had LED DRLs, since your have an SR5 there is an additional harness that hooks up via fuse tap for the DRL.

They installation instructions explain it pretty good: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/core/media/media.nl?id=1718433&c=5129608&h=4b0b32ca6e5a0e8ce1be
