    If you use regular pliers or channel locks you can press it in. Just make sure your pieces are in there. You can wrap the teeth of pliers or channel locks with a couple layers of painters tape and the lower around where you will be pressing the pliers...just be extremely careful not to mar the lower. Open the pliers and hold the spring/cap/ bolt hold open piece in and press the pin in.Hope this makes sense..

    It does and I tried but no go. I got it started like that but it got super tight. I’m trying hot to mar it. Wish I had a pin tool to press it in.

    You might not have the holes ligned up when you are trying to put the pin in...its tricky but once they are aligned right you know.
