Coworker thinks she found her stolen tailgate on Craigslist

For the second time, I dented my tailgate. The first time, I bought one from ebay and took it to my local body shop. It came out OK. But it wasn't cheap. This time I'm looking for a used one, hopefully not so expensive. I've been running an ad in Craigslist under Wanted. Someone replied. They asked if I was still looking for a 2011 Tacoma tailgate? I thought Craiglist sent emails without showing your name or email address. Nope. The name of the guy asking was right in the email. Just for the fun of it, I googled the name and my location (Oklahoma City). Guess what? He was arrested and charged with stealing tailgates from the OKC airport parking lot back in 2015. I sure would like to show his name here, but I guess I better not. So even though he has been arrested and convicted of felony theft six times since that 2015 tailgate crime, he's not in jail/prison and he's still in the business of stealing tailgates. How the hell can that be?

Sure. A welder screws up welding a critical part. Someone dies. Media reports. Millions judge.
A nurse commits euthanasia. She gets caught. Media reports. Millions judge.
A professor says something completely stupid and off the wall. Media reports. Millions judge.

Right now it's law enforcement that are taking their turn in the barrel. Next month it will be a doctor or a military man or an engineer who screws up or does something stupid. Millions will judge based on an extreme minority in that profession.
Take the chip off your shoulder and look at the big picture lol. Every profession (pilots, etc) all get their turn of being judged by one bad apple by millions every time someone screws up.
I know all professors are not crazy or all lawyers are not shysters or all doctors don't screw up, but that is not the way media protrays it or the general population judges that profession.

Just read the news lol. Every profession and every group get judged nowadays, and it's never judged by the vast majority of good people in that group, only the tiny minority that are bad.
Take moderators for example...
