what are you running? i’m on the latest 2.0 beta for 04b04 31-33 and my mileage most definitely got better. i used to get 280 miles per tank now i’m getting 330 per tank. minus the starting hiccup i feel it’s an incredible tune. averaging almost 19mpg vs 17mpg on others

After about about 1k miles the 2.0 betafor 04b04 31-33 tune is definately degrading. The start up issue is getting worse and the mpg is suffering. Definately better than stock but I am going back to one of the past tunes. To bad, 2.0 was great when it was first released.

I’ve got 1500 miles on 04B04 91 31-33 stock gears beta and not seeing the degradation. My mileage improved to mid 18’s. My startup issue is inconsistent, some times it starts fine and other times I get the hiccup. Yesterday I towed an ATV on a small trailer and enjoyed gear lock for the most part. My tune does gear lock in S mode with both ECT on and off.

I feel bad for @OVTune as it seems there is so much variability in these trucks it’s impossible to have one tune for each ECU that works well for all on that ECU. Then add the variability between ECU’s and tuning this truck is a constant game of whack-a-mole. I guess that’s where vF comes in, but I’m not sure how we ever get a 2.0 Final with users reporting different experiences with the same tunes. Basically, someone is going to be disappointed with whatever gets released.

that is the beautiful thing about the Vf tuning option. you dont like something, datalog, contact mat, or one of the super users here, ask what you can do, augment YOUR TUNE, to fit YOUR DRIVING/TRUCK/ECU. base tune, with custom tune option. Ski

Yeah, I’ve spent enough time on vF to be dangerous and I’m excited for the tune packs. However, I’m not smart enough to take a stock tune and do much with it, so I need the tune pack starting point. Waiting patiently.

Also, which octane tune are you running? 87 or 91? I haven’t tried the 87. Wondering if that has anything to do with degradation?

I’m on 46 lb C-load 265/75/R16 (~32’s) but going to 53 lb E-load 255/80/R17 soon. I spend a lot of time at 75-80 mph on my commute. Pretty much everything here in UT has 70-80 mph speed limits. When I correct for tires I’m in the mid 18’s for mpg, low 18’s without ~3% correction. I am expecting a drop when I go to the next tire size.

Thats the key with the 3rd gen is keep the RPM's 2000 or less on the highway and you get good MPG's anything over that you get hit hard on MPG's. I have a 24 mile daily commute and i get anywhere from 14.8 to 19.4 MPG's its all in the RPM range!

Expect a big hit on MPG's when you get your 255/80/17's at those speeds!

Will find out, then regear to 4.88 or 5.29 if needed.

i’m on 275/70 17 Wildpeak AT3 C load. i can get 18.5 sometimes 19mpg averaging 75mph anything above that it’s more like 17.5. When i ran stock tune i was getting 15.5-16mpg. with the 2.0 04b04 31-33 beta tune i’m getting almost 60 more miles out of a tank of gas. I haven’t noticed any degradation of anything it’s continually running better and better minus the occasional startup issue. which is no big deal to me

Have you tried flashing to stock and then re-flashing the 2.0 you like? Seem to remember something similar on 1.05, guys were saying that the tune degrades over time and re-flashing fixes it. I hate "learning" tunes, since it only ever seems to learn to be stupid.

Running 91 octane, and also have 4:88's and running 255/80/16's BFG KM 2's. My speedo and mpg are adjusted by a scangauge. I have a suspicion "learning" built into the truck is having a factor in the tune changing over time. My truck loves anything below 65 mph. I drive the same 180 mile route quite frequently and since updating to 2.0 latest tune I have noticed the mpg reduction. I always use the cruise when possible. 2.0 is far superior to the stock tune, I would have continued to use 2.0 if the startup wasn't getting worse.

Must be an rpms thing as I am on one of the early tester betas, I think it was the first one now deleted, and I just moved to Hawaii a month or so back where you cannot drive faster than 50 on island. I went from 15mpg tops to 22/23mpg on lowest octane petro.
