It's truly amazing what men can do when prompted with a most difficult task.
I'm sure he got some strange looks from friends when he said he was going to
build a Corvair Lakewood Wagon into a monster drag car. with balls!

It's different and it rocks ! super cool

This is another beautiful car we run against. I'm a fan of different. This is a monster.

That wing is molded into the hatch and quarter panel. And it opens. Also the wheel tub into the window...This car is perfect.

Nicest drag Vega I've ever seen. Look at how thick that billet aluminum bracket is holding the turbocharger.

This is a wildcat for sure. I bet it's an under 9 second car.

Yeah I think he was in the low 5's eighth mile. I'd think it would run low 8s quarter mile and probably upper 7's. That is actually a ProCharger, which runs off the crankshaft. Those headers are the giveaway. Blower cars are very very hard on motors, and very very very loud. Like ear drum delete loud. Lol

Yes I noticed it runs a belt drive from the crank shaft. but is the procharger a direct link to the crank shaft ?

The carb setup is a blow through version. This car will make kids cry and split ear drums.

It's even harder to find a good example of the "Big Broncos", the '78s and '79s. They were supposed to be out years earlier, but union issues delayed them until they were almost obsolete and were quickly replaced by the '80-plus junk. I had a '78 Ranger XLT when I was just out of high school. I put on a 4" Skyjacker Softride all-springs lift kit from Eastern Off Road (remember them?) and some 35's on steel wagon wheels. Took the back seat out and put some couch cushions back there. It was the perfect vehicle for me at that age. Fun to drive, hard to damage, easy to sleep in. I have been casually looking for a clean example over the past few years with no luck. Soooo expensive now.

Thats really cool an off road 4x4 beer delivery truck. For those guys needing a cold brew out in the
wilds of America. What will they think of next ?

Thats interesting. As I remember the 78 -79 Ford Bronco, F 150 and F 250 had always been the highly sought after years
to try to find as they were seriously stout. A friend of mine from school had purchased a used 79 F250 4x4 and it was already
jacked up to the sky with 44" monster mudders . you almost needed a step ladder to get in it. Well he was visiting a girl friend
and left the truck idling in front of her mom and dads house while he was waiting for her inside. The truck was parked with the steering wheel
fully clocked to the left. and it slipped out of park into reverse. Yep you got it - Round and round she goes. out in the street
and flattened a whole row of the mans hedges. stopped traffic for a good 10 minutes trying to get it under control and not get
run over. Her dad drove his flatbed chevy work truck in front of it to get it shut down. Needless to say the relationship with
the girl was over. Come to find out later the steering column was the issue. (Transmission lever detents)

I love a wagon. I had a 82 Malibu wagon for 3-4 years. Was very fast. 315 mouse motor by Larry Snedden.
