2007 Double Cab TRD Off-Road Debadged
Hey guys, new member here, I just bought my first Tacoma (and toyota for that matter) yesterday. The truck is a Black 2007 Double cab TRD with off-road package. I bought it from Safford in Fredericksburg, VA.

The truck is very heavily modded (mods that MADE the deal for me), to include several directly from this site. Additionally the truck is COMPLETELY blacked out, all emblems, stickers, text, EVERYTHING has been removed, the only thing that remains is the Toyota symbol on the black grill and the black wheels. The interior has also had the dash light changed from orange to blue.

Here are a couple of mods that have been done that I found here, there are probably even more mods that I'm unaware of:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/84694-how-tinting-tail-lights-right-way-pics.html
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/27829-tailgate-theft-how-prevent.html

I'm hoping to talk to the original owner so I can learn the vehicles history, known problems, mods, and how on earth he racked up 100k (!) miles on this thing in 4 years (especially with how clean it is).

Haven't taken any pics yet, but here is the auction with plenty of them:

Thanks, the carfox was clean, and autocheck was also done and gave it an 89/100 (because of the high mileage).

I'm not sure if I got a good deal or not, but all of them I've seen sell recently, especially in this area, are in the high teens at a minimum. I ended up talking them up $1k on my trade in, but they wouldn't budge from the BiN price ($16995) on Ebay (they had it priced at $19995 on the lot!). The truck looks great inside and out (not perfect, but certainly acceptable), and the engine and transmission were very smooth.

Check out the E-bay auction I linked for plenty of pics, since the sun is almost down when I get home from work (I take the VRE/train), I haven't had enough daylight to get any good pics.

This may seem like a silly question, but is there any way to verify I have a TRD off-road for sure? It has down-hill assist, locking rear diff, the 400w inverter, no hood scoops (so not a TRD sport), and it seems like everything that goes with the package, but it doesn't exactly match the 2011 from Toyota's site. I realize things have probably changed a bit since 2007, but it's hard to tell what I have since it is completely debadged. Are the seats supposed to have "TRD" on them? Is there anywhere else that tells me this is in fact a TRD and the previous owner didn't just do a retrofit of the parts I see (or maybe they were an option in 2007). The only thing I have found is the TRD floormats and the TRD wheels, but those could easily have been swapped.

Ok, I think it's a pretty safe bet to say mine is in fact a TRD/OR. I have all the things you listed. I had seen the TRD logo on the seat on a couple of different posts; looks like those seat covers are just really popular :).

    Thanks,
    Dan

Put the two parts together and thats your answer.

The owner prob commuted from Fredericksburg to NOVA for work. I know a couple of guys who do (never owned toacos).

I commute as well and will have well over 100K in 4 years.

That's possible too. The reason I guessed MD is that is where it was originally registered.

If possible, you should be doing what I do, take the VRE north :)

Still looking for the original owner...

I'm trying to figure out if my truck is lifted. I'm pretty sure it is, but I have no idea where to look on a taco for spacers, after market springs, moved spring mounts, ect... What kind of lifts are even available? My jeep used swing-arm style suspension so it was a whole different world.

Also, did I pay a good price? From my research, TRD off-road tacos are always in high demand and are almost always over $20k, even for older 05 or 06 models. I know the high mileage on mine lowers that a little, bit I feel like $17k was a steal for a fully loaded and modded double cab TRD off-road.

if they did a spacer lift you'd be able to see the spacers on the top of the strut assy in the front, or if say it has 5100's on the front the front shocks will be silver and not yellow/blue

Looks like a great deal, and super clean. It has definitely been taken care of.

I don't think its been lifted at all. Judging by the photos, it looks like its about stock height in the front.

First thing you should do... remove the dealer sticker on the left of the tailgate.

    Congrats!
