That looks feasible. I was thinking about buying long bars and loading it on the side of the tent rather up front just due to the length.

I’ve been looking at the Oru Haven tandem kayak. but the reviews on it have scared me away from it. I love that it’s foldable, compact, and tandem but the reviews are pretty bad.

I did. Not bad for $350. Too bad it looks like they don’t have a tandem kayak. Looking for one my girlfriend and I can paddle out together but can also convert to single person seater. Going to read up on these. Another bonus of a foldable kayak is I don’t need any special equipment or racks to transport it

Jackson makes (made?) a convertible tandem, but not as a foldable. Have you tandem kayaked before? I don't recommend it.

I have canoed before. But always with at least 1 other person. Not alone. Not sure how it would be alone.

Could try this if you want tandem capability..

Hey all, I’m just looking into getting into the whole RTT thing. We currently have an RV for longer nights but I’d like a RTT for 1 night camping. What options are out there for a Family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 small kids). My question is the larger RTT’s are pretty long and I have a short bed.

Anyone have a family of 4 and squeezing into one of the 3+ person tents or is a 4+ a must. I mean I guess I could sleep in the annex while family sleeps up top.

we have used a tandem a couple of times at a few lakes. We probably wouldn’t use one for going down rivers.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I have a 3+ that opens to 72" X 96". The wife, kid, and I have plenty of room. Two kids might make it a little cramped, but I think you would be fine.

It is the cheapest option while maintaining your bed space and not making contact with your tent while in transport.

I rolled into Mountain Pond near Paul Smiths in the Adirondacks at nearly 11pm on Wednesday expecting to have my pick of sights, only to find 1/2 dozen RVs! Surprised they got some of those onto the sights, but I found one away from the water and crashed for the night. Solo Mt. Bike trip, rain started sometime after midnight. Realized I need to find a mattress topper.491BB44E-C036-41E2-8179-CA34C600FCA9.jpg

Hey do you have a pic of how this looks from the inside? I'm trying to make sure you did what I'm picturing. Sounds like a great idea.
