What kind of tires do I need? 18k highway/year with minor dirt road driving

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
    I shopped Costco online for Black Friday tire sales. Set of Goodyear wranglers, free install, balacing, rotations and warranty. I prepaid $749 and waited till after holiday for install.
    They put the wrong tires on but swapped them out fast.

    I agree with post #21, Hankook Dynapro AT are in my worthless opinion decent tires. I'm on my 2nd set, and have never had a problem. I don't do any heavy off road, just gravel and dirt roads mostly. They ride good on the highway, and don't make so much noise you can't hear the radio when its on. Whatever you buy, good luck on your decision. Just don't buy any cheap ass Walmart tires.

    Maybe our browsers are different? As I scroll through there are many different prices. Higher and lower. My first result is the Scorpion AT plus. Is that what youre referring too?

    I put on 30,000 a year,
    The Michelin LTX are a great tire and will last 100,000.
    Tire is NOT an ggressive looking tire.

    HANKOOK ATM DYNAPRO is much more aggressive and VERY deep tread.
    Tires will last 100,000 but start to tend to cup and get noisy around 60,000.

    so what did you decide on? Michelin or Hankook?

    the Michelins are not 'cheap' when i got them quoted at DT, I think they were nearly $185 each including the extra charges incurred

    not sure about Hankook, how much they were

    i was thinking of keeping my duraTracs for WINTER only with deep snow and get back into more of highway surface tire only for softer ride and better MPGs, will need a new set of wheels though...

    I’ve had multi sets of both tires, the Hankook is what I like better because they have a much deeper tread and seem
    to perform better in water and snow

    are those fairly good with cornering?
    these duraTracs are not so good at cornering, feels sorta wobbly lol

    just being a realist here... that contact patch of tire to asphault is what is keeping you alive so you decide what is more important, $$ or the lives of you and your passengers.

    Ive had good luck with wildpeak at3s. Buddy thats a lube tech swears by them now, says theyre more quiet than the michelins that were on his truck last and no mpg drop

    Just some C or D rated all terrains. 265/70r16s (stock size).

    With all the highway driving you do, there's no reason for more off-road oriented tires.

    Just go to America's Tires website (or whatever) and pick a tire that looks good that fits your budget. Just don't get the cheapest tire.
