PS Belt Tensioner Pulley

I'm hoping the parts gurus here can point me in the right direction. I'm changing my belts in the near future, and experience on other cars has taught me that after 150K, the idler pulley bearings are shot, or pretty close. So I figured I would replace as a PM. I found the AC pulley easily enough, but the PS pulley only comes with the bracket for an insane amount of money.

Is there a pulley only replacement for the PS pulley? Are the AC & PS idler pulleys the same? PS pulley & bracket part number is

You should be able to get the bearing number just replace the bearing

yes to he bearing replacement... a "competent" parts guy at O' Reilly should be able to source a bearing for you... you could always try to find one on Amazon but the bearing quality from most suppliers is poor as they are Chinese made bearings. You want a Japan or US made bearing double shielded.

 

Which engine? The ones on my 2.7 were identical.

And one of them I could change the bearing on, it had a nice snap ring. The other one had a plate welded in and no slot for a snap ring. It got replaced with one that does.

 

I have the 2.7L engine as well. I think my strategy will be to buy one replacement AC pulley, and compare with the PS pulley when I take that off. If same, then buy a bearing for the AC pulley. If for some reason different, measure & check number, and get a new PS pulley bearing. If really crazy, like not replaceable and different figure something else out. Both pulleys definitely have some play with belts installed and tensioned.
