Dude get that comp deductible lowered. It's not going to change your monthly payment by much. I have mine at $50 and collision at $200 and it changed the monthly payment like $10-12. That will cover a deer strike also with comp.

About 8 years ago my neighbor knocked on my door to inform me that he had just thwarted an attempted robbery. He came out of his house and looked over at my driveway where he saw some punk-ass tweaker rifling through my center console... in broad daylight... while the Taco was parked in my driveway right next to my house. My neighbor scared him away, and then came over to inform me of his good deed (a 30-rack of beer was purchased shortly thereafter). Since then, I've locked my truck every single time I walk away. Can't trust anyone these days.

OP - sorry about your loss; hopefully you find some cheap replacements soon.

Put a want add on Craig’s List! Who knows, you may even get back your own bumpers.

What can be done as theft prevention? I fear for my bumper.

I thought of jb weld on the hardware.

    Anyone have advice or tips?

It's a not uncommon practice to leave your vehicles unlocked in some places around here. That way your stuff still gets stolen, but you don't have to replace a window.

But tweakers stealing OEM plastic bumpers? The hell? That's way more difficult than actual offroad bumpers cuz of all the stupid clips and stuff.:crapstorm:

Comprehensive claim shouldn't change your premium since it's not your fault and you had no reasonable way of preventing it. Theft, hail, falling objects, etc are usually covered under comprehensive.

Removing the bumper requires tools, time and being obvious. If you're going to try to protect against that kind of theft, why stop there? Lug nuts, body panels, engine, etc are all removable with tools and enough time. JB on the hardware? o_O

Anything aftermarket sticks out and shitty people want what you have. Anything different that is not stock catches people's eye. So if I could secure or make stealing something a little harder I want to.

Back in 92 I had just bought me a brand new Yota. Had it about a month and got up one morning and drove to work got out and looked back at my truck and O shit the front bumper was gone. I figured it was some teenagers done wrecked his own truck and fixed it at my expense so there dad wouldn't find out about it. Never know. It sucks I know.

You could use 12pt hardware and hope the thieves have 6pt tools or get unique hardware like these, along with tools to install and remove them. https://www.brycefastener.com/

CA is a failed state, crime runs rampant everywhere. I moved out of the city because of the crime rate, live out in the County, got big dogs and the wife knows how to use several different kinds of pistols and rifles. The world is upside down and it's going to get worse before it gets better. Hope it all works out for you OP.

Weirdos stole my caps to my stock wheels. Saw this YouTube where the guy buys cable from Home Depot and loops it around the inner wheel clamp then the other end he loops around and under one lug nut.
