when I paint things, I usually do 1-2 coats of self etching primer, and then 1-2 coats of paint. I dont like bed liner paint, so I just choose black or white

They outsource their laser cutting and bending and get it done in batches, so they just have to weld them together. There wouldn't be a way to get it without lettering.

 

Didn't even think of bed liner. I also don't want to overthink it, it's gonna get beat to hell.

I will definitely ask. I am narrowed down to BAMF and Mobtown. It appears both have a bit more coverage than RCI and the BAMF dude replied in another thread and, quite frankly, I'm a sucker for customer engagement.

I have mobtown bolt on sliders and picked up recently SOS offroad concepts trio of skids...all of which was ordered bare, rattle can primed and painted.

I've been buying armor from east coast company's...gotta support the right coast, haha, and obviously helps with lowering or alleviating shipping costs...

 

It was a great thought while it lasted!

Yeah, part of me absolutely wants to stay on this coast.

The other part of me wants to make sure I pick the best product regardless of coast.

Difficult choices!!

 

That's a question I have for a future day but might as well ask:

For those with fancy ass bumpers, what do y'all do with our lovely "license plate must be mounted to the front most point of the vehicle" predicament?!

 

Remember that you're able to pick up in person at Mobtown. Thereby saving monies for other stuff.

 

I don’t think mobtown comes powder coated but I do think they do it themselves.

I have the mobtown skids and sliders. Aluminum skids specifically. They are beefy and can take a beating. I’d probably go steel if I did it again but I wouldn’t hesitate to go through them again.

 

Conveniently, I am frequent visitor of Delaware and consider myself an honorary Delawarian.

I was hell bent on getting aluminum until I started my deep dive and it seems like most folks advise going with steel. Any particular reason why you went alum?

 

Just ordered the UV-82HP and am returning the one I bought. Hopefully I have better luck with this one.
