I've been working from home since mid-March. Found out last week they're going with a phased approach bringing people back to office starting September 30th. My team has no trouble getting stuff done remote so I wouldn't be surprised if it's next year before I have to commute again.

This sounds basically the same boat I'm in. Being a PM, and having Teams meetings, there's really no need for us to be in the office unless it's full staffed. Only real reason for us to be in is to swing by someone's cube/office to ask them for something.

Keep an eye one your miles in addition to the dummy light. On my 2010 the light had stopped working and even though I was counting miles, I knew it shoulda turned on after a long ride. I forget the miles I was at but long story short: I ran the bike dry and it left me stranded by the side of the road because i kept waiting for the light to turn on. First vehicle I had ever run out of gas on. Dealer fixed the light but I’ll never get my dignity back.

Fucking Microsoft Teams - it's either a meeting or someone is calling/messaging me with a problem lol. Yeah I hear ya, in person makes some things easier but this situation has proved the bulk of our work can be done from home. It's pretty funny too because prior to this they were hesitant to let people work remotely more than a couple days a month.

1L is enough to get you to the next gas station... hopefully.

I'm curious how many companies are going to shift to remote work either full or part time now after this. I know the agency had a WFH program they were testing out with some people like 1 day a week, but now they had to send 98% of the employees to WFH and now they're trying to figure out a shared space situation and WFH thing on a permanent basis. It's a bit tough being government but I'm sure it'll happen soon.
